POCATELLO, Idaho n Agriculture is bracing for the White House’s promised crackdown on illegal aliens, which could happen as soon as this harvest.
The Bush administration’s pledge to crack the whip on illegal immigration could, at the least, prove to be an inconvenience for agriculture and other industries that rely heavily on immigrant labor.
Most troubling to agriculture, perhaps, is the fact that businesses that employ illegals will be a major target of the enforcement effort.
At worst, if the government starts “going around busting employers,â€
