After reading all of the information about the DREAM Act the U.S. Senate wants to push through and how much money would be paid by each taxpayer for each illegal immigrant, I have one question to ask.

What does that really say to all of those people who did come here legally and went through the process of waiting and going by the laws to become honorable citizens of this country? Looking at it, it says go ahead and come right in my home and I'll give you money, education, health care, whatever you need at everyone else's expense and all I will ask of you is you vote for me.

I mean, wouldn't it be easier to just declare totally open borders and just let everyone come and go as they please and forget the paper trail? I mean I can understand the administration wanting to go to such lengths to make it look good so that when and if the bill would pass, all those people will be so grateful that they'll all join the Democratic Party and make it a landslide victory for President Barack Obama in 2012.

I never had a problem with people wanting to come to this country, but I do have a problem with them doing it illegally and getting rewarded generously for it, because I have many friends that came to this country and two of them just finally became citizens last year after 10 years of waiting and going through the process.
But that's just it. They went through the process. I think the whole thing is a major slap in the face to every immigrant who came to this country and went through the proper procedures and waiting process to become a citizen, which I think is something that should be earned and not given so easily. All other countries don't allow things like this, why do we?

What makes this country great is that everyone is allowed to have an opinion even if we hate them for it.

So now you know where I stand. Citizenship is a privilege, not a right and as such, you should be made to earn it. This isn't a buy one, get one free deal.
