How'a he doing in the polls? I'm campaigning for office right now myself, so I haven't been paying attention.

No polls have been provided to us. We have seen several articles where the local papers are going out of their way to paint two other candidates as the front runners.

Last I read, Jim was doing very well on fundraising but was in the 3rd place slot. My sources on the campaign say they are confident he will make the runoff if enough funds and volunteers come in.

Tancredo endorsed Jim last week giving the campaign a boost too.

He still has to overcome that "being the 3rd party guy" but the latest news calls him a "Wild Card" in the race. Translated, "Jim could win unexpectedly"

There are many more "unknowns" in a race like this on a special election date. There are over 10 candidates so the dynamics are wild cards.

Also, We cannot calculate how much of the Republican base will split Jim's way or how many new voters he will bring to the table.

One thing has already been accomplished. Illegal immigration has become a top issue in the race and enjoys a much higher profile than it would without his run. Most of the other candidates are trying to say "I'm your control illegal immigration candidate"

One of the two "front runners" has even stolen Jim's Reagan Republican position.

Jim is a leader and others are following his lead.

From what I am hearing, Jim probably has the largest contingent of volunteers on the ground out of all of the campaigns.

He is in the 2nd or 3rd place spot on fundraising. He has high name recognition which is good and he is firmly planted as the leader on the top issue on voters minds.

Every campaign is a gamble and there are many factors at work especially when the ballot is so crowded and complicated.

We will know in about 72 hours.
