More Bad News about the immigration dilemma

I just found this link on another forum. We probably need to look into this.

How about some more really bad news about, and from, Congress.

Debate Heats Up Over Temporary Residency
By LAURA WIDES-MUNOZ Associated Press Writer
The Associated Press - Saturday, January 28, 2006

    MIAMI

Special temporary U.S. residency issued to thousands of Central Americans is due to expire in the coming months, and with the debate over immigration increasingly fierce, many of the immigrants fear they will be sent home.

The temporary status granted to Nicaraguans and Hondurans after Hurricane Mitch in 1998 and to Salvadorans following a devastating earthquake in 2001 has been renewed repeatedly with little public debate, but opposition is growing.

Critics say the program was never meant to be permanent and that it's time for the more than 300,000 people it protects to return home.

Immigrants and their advocates say allowing the special status to expire would devastate not only these individuals but also their families - and the Central American countries themselves - who count on the billions of dollars they earn in the United States and send home.

WHAT ABOUT AMERICANS OUT OF JOBS AND IN THE STREETS

DcSA, and therein lies my second bone of contention with our nere do well government. Do you know that at least a third of those homeless people are veterans who keep losing benefits so that the government can keep passing out money hand over fists to illegal aliens?

If they don't send those people home, or if they lost them like they lost the 19 who flew the planes into buildings on 9-11, then shame on them! How many of those El Salvadore aliens are MS-13? How many of the 300,000 sent money home so their relatives could pay coyotes to get them here?

So many questions. So few answers. So disgusting!

Exactly, JRhino. Actually more than five years for the hurricane victims from Central America.

And, by the way, long time no see! Good to see you again.

Just my two or three cents worth...

    - They had time to fill out the paperwork to become a naturalized citizen.

    - They have taken advantage of every government handout program.

    - Most considered politically displaced received a $50,000.00 grant to relocate somewhere within the US.

    - Most take priority in places such as medical care, etc.

    - Most don't pay any taxes and benefit form the taxes you and I pay.

    This list is endless...

    SEND 'EM HOME!!!

Think they ought to send them backing on the same boat they came on.

    Let someone else support them.

But don't you see--they were only offered the opportunity to be here temporarily. The time is coming to an end. The problem from my vantage point is going to be to find them to send them back.

    Send Them back

I sent an email to DHS yesterday, telling them not to renew their status. It wouldn't hurt for everyone here, to do the same.
    REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!
