'Guest worker' program lets illegals off the hook

All we are hearing about now is this so-called "guest worker program" that was never really in existence. But there is now a rush to get it passed so that all these illegals can continue what they were doing in the first place: living and working in the U.S. without legal documents.

What kind of message does that send? It's like closing the barn door after the horse has already escaped. And we are not just talking about the 350 illegals discovered in New Bedford; it's more like 10 million-plus nationwide.

Why was this situation ever allowed to get this grossly out of control? You can bet it was intentional. And it will be too late when we all realize what and who's interests it is serving.

But since Senator Kennedy has all this compassion for these illegal immigrants, why hasn't he provided residence for them at the infamous Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port? Surely, there is adequate room and accommodations for all of them, while they re-unite with their family members. And then he can surely find employment for all of them, as well. You can bet his Cape Cod neighbors will be more than happy to aid him in his compassionate endeavors.
