Sanctuary City

The population of the city of Philadelphia grew for the first time in 60 years according to data from the 2000 to 2010 census. There was a tremendous influx of Puerto Ricans, Hispanic and Asian immigrants, and though some entered the city legally countless illegal aliens now call Philadelphia home resulting in the 0.6% growth in population to 1, 526,006.

Sanctuary City advocate Mayor Nutter cheered the news saying, "What it really is about is folks recognizing that this city is moving in the right direction… We've changed some of the culture here in city government, and things are in fact improving."

Nutter made national news when he refused to round up illegals in the city last year. As word spread, Philadelphia became a magnet for law-breakers who would have been deported from other areas in the US.

Gary Jastrzab, executive director of the City Planning Commission, told the Daily News that there has been an "isolation of various communities in the city, leading to a concentration of poverty. It stressed the city's tax base and the performance of the school district."

The Daily News article also notes that when it comes to the number of illegals in Philadelphia, “some observers believe the total is actually higher because of undocumented immigrants”.

You can call them “Undocumented” or any PC term that you want, but the fact is Philadelphia is attracting them in droves and the Philly’s one party Democrat rulers are overjoyed at the latest addition to their powerbase.

The Left's philospophy remains, win at all cost, no matter the consequences…

..And congrats Philly on yet another "honor".
