John Campbell (R) CA, is on the House Immigration Reform Caucus.

He expressed his disapproval of S. 1639 and wrote: "I absolutely consider S.1639 an amnesty bill and vehemently oppose any proposals to reward illegal immigrants with a pathway to citizenship after breaking the law.
I believe any immigrant who crosses our border illegally ought to forfeit citizenship to the US forever."

He then wrote: "House Republicans voted to go on record in opposition to this bill (S.1639)." He mentioned all the weaknesses of the bill (continued extended family chain migration, failure to end birthright citizenship, no language to penalize "sanctuary cities", no completion of border fence).

He then wrote about H.Res 499, which he signed, that expresses the "sense of the House of Reps that the administration should vigorously enforce the laws of the US to substantially reduce illegal immigration and improve border security." I guess this is probably a meaningless gesture?

He finally wrote about H.R. 2954, The Secure Borders FIRST Act, which he cosponsored. This would "mandate that the Dept. of Homeland Security gain operational control of all our borders within the next 6 years, authorize additional border-security personnel, require expedited removal for any illegal aliens apprehended within 100 miles of the border within two weeks of entry, and make alien street gang members deportable and inadmissible. The bill also includes strong worksite-enforcement provisions and would require tamper-resistant biometric Social Security cards which will minimize fraud. HR 2954 is currently in the House Committee on 2954..."

He sounds like one of the good guys to me!
