Got this in my email from a Sen. Joe Biden (voted yes on s. 2611) related organization:

Every Memorial Day, we honor those who gave their lives for our country so that we can live in freedom. On Monday, as you offer a prayer, fly a flag, call a veteran, or e-mail a brave soldier in Iraq, I ask that you pause to think about how lucky we are to be Americans.
We live in a free country because every generation has answered the call of duty. The new generation of Americans is no different. They are united and share the patriotism of their parents and grandparents. They are not afraid to go to dangerous places to protect our values.

On this Memorial Day, there are more than 2,400 military families whose sons and daughters will never return home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Their children have made the ultimate sacrifice, and we owe them not only our gratitude, but also our commitment to stand up for the ideals and dreams they had for our country.

On Monday, a grateful nation will remember every generation of Americans who made the world a better place. Keep their spirit alive.

Thank you,
Joe Biden
