Thread: ABC Nightline bias

Last night Vicki Mayberry did an illegal immigration story on Nightline about a city that's fighting back against landlords housing illegal alien tenants and as usual, she was labeling everyone trying to deal with the illegal alien problem as "racist." She implied that the town was so small, they shouldn't worry about it. I have previously seen Terry Moran another Nightline regular host do the same thing, calling others "racist" when they really weren't. I'm sick of the media and the activists getting away with this dirty trick of name-calling and getting away with it.

Couldn't find a link on the Nightline page, but there was discussion about what I just said, like the following:

On the 9/20 broadcast there was a story about a small town in Missouri that was trying to crack down on illegal immigrants who settled in their town, and on at least two occasions, I heard people in the interview, including the ABC reporter, use the word "racist" to describe these actions.

This is NOT racism. These people in Missouri are standing up for the rule of law and trying to protect their homes, their jobs, and their city. They are having to do this, like many other towns throughout the US, because our federal government has failed to live up to their responsibilites for the last 20 years to protect us.

You folks should really look up the meaning of the words "racist" and "illegal" and take care to use them properly.

This will come back to haunt them, you just wait and see. These newscasters are viewed as racist also, they just don't see it yet, one story that does not support illegals and they will be considered racist themselves. They are slaves to the illegal invasion.

Wouldn't it be nice if every anti-illegal immigrant advocate in America refused to watch anything but CNN (have to watch Lou Dobbs) & Fox news and cancelled their subscription to all liberal papers! A concentrated effort on our part is all it would take to get these liberal minded illegal immigrant loving media folks to see the light! Just one week and they would be singing a different tune.

I am sick and tired of journalist and the pro-illegal immigrants labeling partiotic americans as racist simply because they want their government to enforce their immigrations laws.I don't understand why the people being thus labeled as racist cannot file a slander suit against the name calling parties after all this is one of the most vile ways to me, of slander to another person. There is no reason we should just sit back and allow them to get away with this kind of assisnation of a persons integrity. Perhaps if these people know they were going to be pulled into a lawsuit they might think twice before maliciously labeling persons of being racist and i bet juries if it made it that far would mostly be on the side of the defendents!

I saw that program also. At first I thought "maybe" they are standing up for Americans, but then the tide turned...and she did accuse them of being racist!

I used to enjoy watching Nightline but can't stand it now since Ted Koppel left. The new hosts turn me off. I haven't watched it since the night when Terry Moran interviewed the illegal aliens with the violin stories.

I used to watch nightline and all those shows, but I got way too fed up with it. I don't watch any TV anymore other than CSI (The Las Vegas one). I don't even watch my local news that's infested with talk about illegals and how they sould be helped to stay here.... Pffft. I got called racist in person before because I complained about illegals.... Since these hispanics are taking over my state, maybe I should scream racism since I can't get a job (don't speak spanish) down here or anything.

Everyone is allowed to cry racism but Americans. You know...the illegals and their so called civil rights organizations. (Who are racist!)

Even though I'm American now, my heritage is Russian/Ukrainian. Maybe I should scream racism against europeans in my state. I'm just ticked off that people are going along with this so called "You're being racist towards hispanics" stuff. Last time I checked, Hispanic isn't a race anyways....

Earlier today there were 41 posts on the Nightline racism thread. Tonight there are only 28. Guess Nightline doesn't like debate about racism. Of course Ainsley St gets the last word-it just shows ABC's bias even more!
