    Hispanic immigrants not assimilating!

    straight from NCLR.ORG (La Raza)

    http://lideres.nclr.org/content/article/detail/4749/

    "...
    Identity and Assimilation

Throughout this nation's history, immigrant assimilation has always meant something more than the sum of the sorts of economic and social measures outlined above. It also has a psychological dimension. Over the course of several generations, the immigrant family typically loosens its sense of identity from the old country and binds it to the new.

It is too soon to tell if this process will play out for today's Hispanic immigrants and their offspring in the same way it did for the European immigrants of the 19th and early 20th centuries. But whatever the ultimate trajectory, it is clear that many of today's Latino youths, be they first or second generation, are straddling two worlds as they adapt to the new homeland.

According to the Pew Hispanic Center's National Survey of Latinos, more than half (52%) of Latinos ages 16 to 25 identify themselves first by their family's country of origin, be it Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador or any of more than a dozen other Spanish-speaking countries. An additional 20% generally use the terms "Hispanic" or "Latino" first when describing themselves. Only about one-in-four (24%) generally use the term "American" first.
    .."

Really, too early to know if the process will play out the way it did before with other immigrants? Really? Are we are stunned by that?

La Raza is almost explicit about what they want. They do not want to assimilate and of course we can ALL see that!

It is time to call these people out!

LAraza and other "advocates" don't want them to assimilate. Once they assimilate, they can no longer be taken advantage of by their own people.

Advocates of illegal immigration earn millions off of illegal aliens, that's why they are fighting tooth and nail to keep them here.

    Been there.

    Good luck with that

It would take a total civil upheaval to root them all out now

They have pretty much taken over in this country , Until we can get a
different mindset , we can't win

And I just don't see it happening as long as they are allowed to use our
own laws against us , Also they have the lib progressives on their side , every one of them a traitor

That's why we need to ensure that Washington flips in 2012 and that we enacted new laws and enforce existing ones starting with workplace verification and enact English as our official language. That's a good start.
because if this is allowed to get more out of hand this is going to end in tears. I now believe there are forces seeking to destroy the United States of America as we know it and usher in something very different!

I've never understood why legal immigrants (I am one - also became a citizen in 2004) aren't organized and act as a counter weight to this la Raza non sense?

My point is all non-hispanic immigrants are getting a raw deal with Hispanic immigrants being made more special than others. This is not an american value. I guess its all about being organized to act as a counter weight.

We all realize the the deportation of the majority of illegals that are here in our borders will not be a one week thing, it will take years to root them out but just like their buildup within OUR country, we can reverse the proccess and between arrests and stopping them from working and collecting freebees here they will leave on their own or be dragged out kicking and screaming. Bottom line is we are NOT going to give them AMNISTY and we are not going to let their ANCHOR BRATS be the only thing preventing them from being tossed out.
