    Senate Democrats stonewalling 700-mile fence

Heard this on Lou Dobbs tonight. It's a good thing I'm capable of controlling my temper, because the 700-mile border fence issue really pisses me off. I can't believe the Senate Democrats are preventing the bill from coming to the floor for a vote. Geez, I wanted to yell at the wife, ground the kids, and kick the dog, but the fear of sleeping on the coach, kids hating me, and getting bit forced me to get control of my senses! This is obviously a situation where the Senate Dems are afraid of losing an amnesty bargaining chip. I sure hope this blows up in their face!

Somehow we've got to get that fence bill on the Senate floor before the 109th Congress ends (Friday or Saturday)! Any ideas?

All is not lost yet, but the bill is obviously in a lot of trouble. Hopefully some phones Capitol Hill phones will be ringing off the walls tomorrow.

What a bunch of idiots!! Ted Kennedy is the biggest of all!! How do we get rid of these fruitcakes? If this bill never reaches the floor for a vote, more than ever we need to get these democrat obstructionists out of office. Take John McCain, Lindsay Graham and John Warner out with them.

It isn't all democrats, senator Lugar a republican from my state supports amnesty and he doesn't even have to worry about getting re-elected. I called his office to see when he is going to be in Indiana and they told me that he won't be coming here, that he hasn't done that for a long time. And he is up for re-election this year. I even asked a lady in his office when one of his aides would be coming out here and she told me, oh, there won't be any aide coming. No representation whatsoever! I also asked when senator Bayh would be coming to Indiana, he isn't coming either, but he does send an aide sometimes but no one will tell me when the aide is coming or where he will be. I can't talk to any of them.

THEIR INACTION ON BORDER SECURITY AND ENFORCEMENT WILL BE THEIR DOWNFALL. ANYONE WHO DOES NOT VOTE FOR IT WILL BE OUSTED IF THEY ARE UP FOR RE-ELECTION!!

TOM KEAN(R) who is running against Menedez(D) for a Senate seat in NJ is in the lead. Kean has said he is against illegal immigration and wants border security and the fence in recent phone messages. I think the election polls are speaking what we already know in this country. There is a serious disconnect between SOME of our elected officials and the American people.

Americans wants our interests and jobs, citizens and our country PROTECTED! If you can't deliver on these basic issues you are going the get the BOOT!!! Go get a job in Mexico!!

    That's definitely great news.

The 700-mile fence bill still hasn't been brought to the Senate floor. We only have one day left. I urge everyone to call their Senator(s) in Washington and insist they do what they can to bring this bill to the floor. Also, it wouldn't hurt to call Sen. Frist. I called both my Senators and Frist's office this morning.

I think some of these "public officals" don't believe they will be voted out of office! I hope Americans give them a rude awakening! Since they so rudely want to give everything we hold dear away!
Please help save America for our children and grandchildren... they are counting on us. THEY DESERVE the goodness of AMERICA not to be given to those who are stealing our children's future! ... and a congress who works for THEM!

Was it not expected they'd not bring it to the floor before they went on their break? I ask because I thought there was some talk they were going to do this.
I don't care what you call me, so long as you call me AMERICAN.

Once the bill came out of the House, it seemed like a 50-50 proposition on whether the bill would come up for a vote on the Senate floor. Many of us had high hopes, especially since Sen. Frist orginally said he was going to bring the bill to the floor and President Bush said he would sign it. Now we're told Sen. Frist can't get the 60 votes he needs for cloture on the bill once it is delivered to the Senate floor, which in essence means that a few Republicans and probably almost all the Democrats will not commit to cloture. Basically, the Democrats have effectively stonewalled the bill. I say Democrats because they are the heavy majority that will not commit to cloture. They absolutely refuse to lose the border fence as a bargaining chip for their comprehensive immigration reform, which will include amnesty, in-state tuition for illegal immigrant children, a guest-worker program, etc.

Cloture would terminate debate on the bill by calling for an immediate vote. Cloture is a means of terminating a filibuster, which is a prolonged speech on the floor of the Senate designed to forestall legislative action.

Cloture or not, I'd still like to see the bill on the floor. Let a few of those wishing to stop its passage show their resistance publicly.

Whichever Congressman opposes securing the Border and enforcement against illegal immigration needs to be targeted for removal from office.

It will be anti-incumbent day at the polls based on illegal immigration (invasion violation against the American People and the U.S.). Regardless of what the other candidate stands for, the pro-invader incumbent needs to be torn down. Regardless of Party affiliation those Congressmen unwilling to see their oath to defend the United States need to lose their jobs.

The worst of them: Harry Reid (D-NV), John McCain (R-AZ), Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), Sam Brownback (R-KS) need to be working in the Mexican Congress if they are so determined to aid and abet illegal Aliens and violate Americans. These Congressmen stand for nothing and are worthless in regard to standing up for the United States.
