Thread: Telephone townhall with Mellisa Bean (IL 8th)

What a very interesting telephone townhall meeting with Melissa Bean. She sure can dance around an issue. The people on the conference call were well informed and concerned. I think she was a bit unprepared for the anger she encountered. Illegal immigration came up, but she has been against amnesty in the past so I think she's in our corner on this one. She doesn't believe anything will be acted on before elections, or perhaps ever, considering the state of the economy and the mood of the voters. People were very concerned about jobs, our country's financial condition. She's really, really proud of the health care bill and TARP (sigh).

No, it was live and callers could ask questions if they managed to get through. Call her local office and ask to be put on the list for telephone townhalls. When these calls started I was added in to the call near the end of the conference. I called to complain and now am called at least 10 minutes before the call started. I had expected that only friendly questions would get through but callers were clearly angered.
