MDPetitions.com and its Chairman, Delegate Neil Parrott, continue to break new ground in Maryland with its historic and hugely successful petition to put the illegal alien advocacy legislation, SB167, on the ballot in November 2012 so the citizens can overturn this outrageous law.

Not only did the petition manage to collect nearly twice the required signatures across the state and across party and demographic lines, but the success gained national attention and brought the governmental oversight group, Judicial Watch, to Maryland.

This is a game-changer in Maryland, brought to us by a freshman delegate who is content to stay out of the limelight and just work humbly on the cause. After years of attempts by Republican representatives and conservative citizens, this effort represents the first major victory against violations by the Democratic majority in Annapolis in their catering to the illegal alien special interests who support their campaigns.

MDPetitions.com has managed to create a viable petition process in Maryland, which angers the monopoly in power in the statehouse.

MDPetitions.com put out a press release on January 5 on the latest update to the court challenge against the petitioners by Casa de Maryland, the National Educators Association and several illegal aliens.

I spoke to a teacher just yesterday who said almost no Maryland teachers realize their union dues are going to an organization that has joined forces with Casa de Maryland to invalidate the petition. She has just cancelled her membership since she is in a position which does not require union membership. Bravo!

I post the press release in its entirety below along with a link to their recent request for dismissal of the court case.

You may already know about the first piece of Good News: Casa de Maryland has conceded that you and I have collected more than enough valid signatures during the petition drive. They dropped their argument and their effort to invalidate more of your signatures.

Now for the second piece of Good News: I wanted you to be one of the first to know that Judicial Watch and MDPetitions.com is seeking to dismiss the remaining piece of the Casa de Maryland's lawsuit to invalidate our petition drive. They are still insisting that the bill was an appropriations bill, which cannot be brought to referendum. This argument does not have merit, as the bill does not appropriate specific funds and did not go through the appropriations committee.

Thanks to your hard work in getting more than enough signatures, the referendum to allow us to vote on the bill that would have given our tax money to subsidize college tuition costs for illegal aliens is one step closer to officially being on the ballot.

[Click here to see the] joint press release that Judicial Watch and MDPetitions.com sent out today. With this request, the judge could dismiss Casa de Maryland's case entirely. If the judge does not dismiss it, our hearing is scheduled for January 27, 2012. I will keep you posted.

How can you help? We need to launch a campaign to educate and inform people all across Maryland regarding the facts and implications of this bad bill. This takes money. Casa de Maryland is hiring a full-time, well-paid person to raise money and to advertise your hard work on the petitions right down the drain using misinformation and emotional pleas. If everyone who signed the petition contributed $5 towards this effort, we would be able to help people understand what this bill would do and how it would impact them.

Can you help us get the word out? You can either send a check (payable to MDPetitions.com) to P.O.Box 32, Funkstown, MD 21734, OR you can donate at the MDPetitions.com website using paypal or a credit card. Please forward this information to like-minded people who may be interested in helping in this tangible way.

For now, thank you again for your hard work, and let's press on to get common-sense back into our government.

Sincerely,
Neil
