Thread: Bakerfield Needs our help.

This is Mike's reply to my email to the city. Everyone jump on board this:

I'm going to also put it in General Discussion some newbies aren't familiar yet. This is actually first posted in Activism Room for you newbies who aren't familiar with the site yet. Check that section. The site link is also there. You'll get a better sense of the ordinances they are trying to enact.



Phyllis: Thank you for the message, please send our link to as many people as possible here in Bakersfield.

Actually Huerta is not a council member and God help us if she ever becomes one. The council member(Zack) who supports the Ordinances, also has the information about 287(g). It is a very effective tool, so I hope that city will take advantage of it.

This has been in the planning stage for over a year and half, and I hope to build the site to a Non Profit Org. that will support this effort and other things down the road. It's going to be a cat fight for sure, but I think the people "Citizens" will win.

Again thank you for the support, your message will be posted on the site(minus your address of course). If it's okay may I edit the part about Huerta being a city council member since she isn't.
I'll just put "Huerta says".

Please get as many people as possible to send in their support. It's been sort of slow getting the word out so for.

What ever Ward you live in get your council member to support the effort and if they seem to ride the fence about this issue or is against it, get others to send messages and call them.
