    I'm undecided!

Sen. McConnell stayed hid all day, yesterday. But he finally voted the right way.

Should I thank him and then vote him out....or forget him altogether and vote him out?

I know we need Republicans now in this fight, and quite possibly in the Mexican truck, NAU & SPP fight...and we need to get them to stop outsourcing our jobs so much.

I also know we cannot trust any of them, very much....but don't you think the old Democrats are trying to turn the Country into socialism?

Right now, who needs our support the most? Dems or Republicans?

You need to give candidates support on an individual, case by case basis. If the best candidate for a certain election is a Dem, vote that Dem in. If it's a Repub, vote that Repub in. If it's a 3rd party person, vote that particular 3rd party person in (don't be afraid to vote for 3rd party people.)

We've seen from this immigration bill that labels no longer matter...some Dems and Repubs are good, and others are horrible.

I personally would choose to vote McConnell out, as he could've been against this from the beginning, but wasn't...he only went along with the crowd. Just my opinion.

Thank you for everything you've done in this battle. I've read your posts quite a few times.

    Well, my 0.02 cents...

A by-product of all this mess is that we have found there are decent Democrats willing and able to do the right thing (and the not-so-good ones). At the same time, there are Republicans that are not worth a poop on the issue as well (and, of course, many good ones).

Support the good ones, and don't support the bad ones - party affiliation or labels can be helpful sometimes, but to me, it's the qualities of the individual that matters...

Republicans need as much support as we can give them. Hopefully we can change some of the old guard in the Republican party with some more supportive ones.

The most vocal side against amnesty was on the Republican side.

The Dems seemed mostly for Amnesty, Okay Kyl/Lugar and a few other pubs need out!

    moosetracks,

Watch him like a hawk to find out if he really is reformed or just campaigning.

You have about 15 months to decide on what to do about him, if he is up for re-election in 2008.

There are so many issues that we have to fight for....

    outsourcing
    building the fences
    lower guest & Visa workers
    cracking down on employers
    stopping NAU & SPP

Are we going to have to fight politicians as fierce as we did yesterday and yrs. before, all the time?

We are really going to have to put people in Washington that has OUR values & wants...or we'll end up in a constant battle with them!

How nice it would be to elect them and know they work for us, and only us!

Brownback changed his vote. I don't think McConnell changed his vote on record, but merely waited til he could sorta read the final outcome. Right?

I'd be watching, personally. This Bill gave us a rather unique tool to gauge Senators with. We see who is outspoken and worthy of respect. We see who is, or who is not, merely a puppet to the party. We see who behaves like a snake. And we see who is insane.

There were a number of events that transpired during this Bill's process that were unprecedented and we should all use this knowledge to help ourselves make more intelligent decisions in the future.

I am unhappy with both parties and the Presidential Canidates.I Al Gore has a new book "Assault on Reason" which I think all americans should read.We need to elect our government without them using domestic Hot Button issues to divide and ultimatly conquer us.It is time for all americans to focus on the destruction of our nation as the most urgent agenda and elect whomever will protect us.

McConnell's up for reelection in 2008, need I say more? I believe job preservation was his motivating factor in voting against cloture. Just my opinion.

I agree. What I heard on CNN was that McConnell originally voted YES for cloture on the Thursday cloture vote, but when he saw that the vote was going against cloture, he changed his vote to NO. This tells me that he is a political hack who wanted to maintain his position as Senate Minority leader by supporting the administration and RNC instead of his constituents, and when he saw that his vote did not count anymore, changed it so he could tell his constituents during his upcoming re-election campaign that the record shows he voted against this bill.

McConnell was the one who was running around the Senate last week saying that no one, Republican or Democrat, was going to lose his seat over the immigration bill. I suggest the voters in Kentucky prove him wrong.
