    I Can't Help But Wonder.....

I wonder how our troops in Iraq feel about the invasion of their country from Mexico? How they feel about our congress even considering giving US citizenship to insurrectionists, seditionists?

Is anyone in contact with any of our personnel? And would you care to comment on their behalf?

My family is full of veterans...and they are not happy in the least.

I'd personally like to know that myself. I know they have their hands full...but sure would be interested in their view.

I wish they were here on our borders, protecting our homeland....I would feel much safer with our soldiers here.

I too, often wonder just what they think. I hope someone can enlighten us.

they are fighting for their lives over there, doubt they have much time to think about the immigration problem. I think they must be trusting in us and the minutemen to hold down the homefront, let's not let them down! I hve a nephew there, he says they really only hear the news from their families back home. I saw Charlie Daniels on Fox the other night, he is really good about going over quite often and playing for the troops, went to his site he had an open letter to the President about immigration, it was pretty good, you might want to take a look.

Every Military Man/Woman that I have spoken with are in agreement that the border is a serious issue. I'm sure some would love to kick A in the homeland. What a glory that would be.

Have faith! Many retired generals are speaking out against the current administration. You have veterans who care. You have military forces who are in charge of BIG airplanes and ships which could decide sudden mutiny and order their troops back to the United States and have them back here within just half a day.

You have many farmers and ranchers down near the border who have just about gone to the end of their fuses. You have civilian border watchers (vigilantes as our government prefers to call them) who actually care - even to the point of keeping their public image in check (anyone doubts the Minutemen for one minute (no pun intended)) go to their website and download their Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and their training manual. They've made it publically available to all, whether you choose to become a member or not.

There may be a national confrontation soon, and even if we lose - you can always count on United States citizens to never give in without a fight. It's always been our nature, and I believe even though there is currently so much ignorance and apathy - it is still there deep down in the gut of most United States citizens.

I err on the idea that we are going to have violence in the streets. That's just my highly cautious defense mechanisms churning away, AND my experiences. Not to mention, all it took was one little spark in France as of late to ignite a fire all across their land.

It only takes one little spark to start a fire. On which day in the near future is someone going to strike a flint? It's not a matter of if - but rather - WHEN.

My family has always been in our national defense...all the way from our Revolutionary War right down to Iraq...we're hoping that our grandson will not need to make a second trip to that wonderful country..
What the vets are expressing is a combination of things...anger, disgust, frustration..just as we all do here on the board. For awhile we were all unable to believe these senators standing in our faces and smugly announcing that we needed to 'amnesty' the invaders. Most of the veterans recognize invasion when they see it. The rest of us recognize a traitor when we see one.

I, too, believe there will be violence. Heck, the invaders have already promised violence if they don't get their way. But there's a problem with that...violence begets violence...who knows where it would end?

I saw a riot in a cocktail lounge one night...it was amazing..heartstopping. One flashpoint and 125 people were fighting like crazy..bottles sang thru the air...I was on the balcony with a great view and noticed that some people at the same table jumped up and started fighting each other...glass littered the floor.. spilled drinks made slippery footing...tables and chairs were turned over...one woman, also on the balcony was running up and down with a beer bottle whacking everyone that got close to the balcony. The huge 20 foot mirror behind the bar got hit and shattered, spraying glass everywhere.

I was terrified...not for my own safety but b/c I had $3,000 in cash in my purse that was payroll for a friends employees. I needed to get out of there...wearing four inch spike heels I left the balcony and found that the door nearest me was blocked with a knot of fighters with some laying unconscious in front of that door...I had to go across the entire building to get to another exit...it was so surreal...two guys could be fighting as if they meant to kill each other....I'd tap on a back...say 'Excuse me...please excuse me sir'...they'd stop fighting to let me thru and then go right back to it as if there had been no interruption...Finally some BIG guy grabbed me by the arm, lifted me off the floor and all but THREW me out the exit door...I had my purse up under my arm like Emmit Smith going thru the line. I made my run and escaped unharmed with the money intact.

That was an experience that I do NOT want to repeat any time in the near future...

But it can happen..it can happen just that fast....

I personally can understand why illegal immigrants came to our land to pick a fight. If they want this country, why don't they rally the troops down in ol' Mexico? Because this country will defeat itself and they know how to work our systems.
