    I have a concern

As stated, I have a concern, and hopefully someone will tell me I am wrong.

I have noticed in the news, at first the Tea Party was called kooks, then it was angry old white guys, then racists, then it was a distortion of what it stands for.

and it seems to be ramping up, I watch the OC register so I can go in and correct things, and invite people to come to a rally, I take tons of pictures at the rallys so people can see it isnt all white, and there are no racist hate monger signs....

but, we all know, people listen to the main stream media. I jsut received the information, on I believe it is HR1955 (?), about the homeland security and radical act.

It looks like the obama administration would get to decide who is a threat from our own country, and deal with it, I also remember, when he was running, comments about re-educating people.

Now, here is why I am concerened, Hardball on cnbc, is doing a show on the Tea Party on the 16th, now I rarely see them advertising 2 weeks out for a special

and, if you look at the schtick for it, they show guys walking around in the snow with guns, so I have the feeling they found the most radical militia type guys for this.....and strangely, it is coming out as we ramp up for midterm elections, and, the words are, Tea party wants to take over the government....the rise of the radical right, which, makes it seem like a hint of Nazi Germany....even though they are socialists, and we are far from that

I am sure you can see where I am going with this.

Has anyone heard if we will be doing something to counter it ?, they have laready worked on campaigns to make Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh and others look like psycho cases, so even if they counter, would it be enough, and I have noticed that Greta Van Susterean is getting bad press now

any thoughts, I would appreciate, even if it is to tell me I am being stupid

the tea party started off badly .. they let ANYONE come and express any opinion .. as a result they have tarnished their brand name ...

as any PR savy person can tell you , you MUST control your imiage ..

nowadays tea party = wack jobs in public perception .

The best thing for the tea party to do right now would be to sort out it's ranks .. get rid of the racists , get rid of the obama has no birth certicate people etc ... seperate yourselves from the crazies and then rename your orgnzation and start with a stronger minority face while keeping the ideas that most of your memebers stand for like limted goverment , lower taxes etc etc .. After that you'd have to start to have more of a command structure similar to the other poltical parties , and then PUSH PUSH PUSH in the media and local communites for recrument ..

quote(nowadays tea party = wack jobs in public perception)quote

Perhaps in main stream media however not in the minds of many Americans, where have you seen "wack jobs" in the Tea party,I haven't, large portions are retired seniors, who have remained silent for years. Most of the hard core "wack Jobs" are on the left with the intent to end America as we know it.

Remember the media will continue to marginalize any conservative/Christians, it's simply what they do. We certainly do not want the Tea Party like the Dem's or GOP that is nothing more then a third party.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

sdbrit, I have not read it yet, and brought it up so I can. It would seem from what little I understand of it right now, it is a continuance of Homeland Securities previous dig at those who object to this government (Right Wing extremists...remember?).

I too am concerned, Homeland Securities reach ideas have not gone away with that, it was just swept under the rug in order to calm the masses. We will always have to watch our backs, especially with this administration.

As for the Tea Party, it is very sad that too many loons have been linked with them. Yes, they do need to clean house and straighten up their ranks, it would be best if they want to continue being a serious force to reckon with politically in this nation.

my issue is, I have never met a tea party wack job, all have been hard working, mostly educated, and many prior military.

the only place I see the loons is when the media is involved, and they put up tea part words, but the nut case they are interviewing never makes the claim to be part of it.

I ride with bikers almost every day, many dont know this, but in california, they have gang specialy laws, they are so vague, that the boy scouts could get labeled a gang if a DA wanted too

I have personally witnessed these las useed to pull over groups of bikes, wearing a patch or not, they get completely run through the system, their bikes checked, which you can refuse but you will end up with a long day

many times they call them safety check points, or motorcycle awareness months......boils down to harassment. In southern california, we have towns we wont even ride in anymore, because they use these laws to drive bikes out

if local cops have this much ease to abuse power, is there any doubt a socialit agenda obama administration would use this new bill to whatever they wanted ?

what if they decide catholics are too outspoken, or the elks lodge, or ALIPAC ?

thats where my concern is, where does it end, then we add on the idea of controlling the media to make sure that the " RIGHT" information gets out

its a slippery slope I dont even want to start climbing

The Tea Party was specific in nature....hence the name. Taxes were the game. I think that they should stay specific in their intent. It was a just and worthy cause. Every time a group tries to take on a "fix the world" mentality it is diluted and off point. IMHO

    Tea Party Patriots

    Mission Statement and Core Values

    Mission Statement

The impetuses for the Tea Party movement are excessive government spending and taxation. Our mission is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.

    Core Values

    • Fiscal Responsibility

    • Constitutionally Limited Government

    • Free Markets

Fiscal Responsibility: Fiscal Responsibility by government honors and respects the freedom of the individual to spend the money that is the fruit of his or her own labor. A constitutionally limited government, designed to protect the blessings of liberty, must be fiscally responsible or it must subject it's citizenry to high levels of taxation that unjustly restrict the liberty our Constitution was designed to protect. The runaway deficit spending as we now see in Washington D.C. compels us to take action because we know that a heavy burden of national debt is a grave threat to our national sovereignty and the personal and economic liberty of future generations.

Constitutionally Limited Government: We, the members of The Tea Party Patriots, are inspired by our founding documents and regard the Constitution of the United States to be the supreme law of the land. We believe that it is possible to know the original intent of the government our founders set forth, and stand in support of that intent. Like the founders, we support states' rights for those powers not expressly stated in the Constitution. As the government is of the people, by the people and for the people, in all other matters we support the personal liberty of the individual, within the rule of law.

Free Markets: A free market is the economic consequence of personal liberty. The founders believed that personal and economic freedom were indivisible, as do we. Our current government's interference distorts the free market and inhibits the pursuit of individual and economic liberty. Therefore, we support a return to the free market principles on which this nation was founded and oppose government intervention into the operations of private business.

    Our Philosophy

Tea Party Patriots as an organization believes in the Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government, and Free Markets. Tea Party Patriots, Inc. is a non-partisan grassroots organization of individuals united by our core values derived from the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States of America and the Bill Of Rights as explained in the Federalist Papers. We recognize and support the strength of grassroots organization powered by activism and civic responsibility at a local level. We hold that the United States is a republic conceived by its architects as a nation whose people were granted "unalienable rights" by our Creator. Chiefly among these are the rights to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." The Tea Party Patriots stand with our founders, as heirs to the republic, to claim our rights and duties which preserve their legacy and our own. We hold, as did the founders, that there exists an inherent benefit to our country when private property and prosperity are secured by natural law and the rights of the individual.
