I would go to the emergency room, but there seems to be a shortage of emergency rooms, and the ones that we do have are FILLED with illegals.

Why don't you send ICE to the emergency rooms Jorge BOOSH? They would have a field day rounding up illegals!

I heard that as well......wish it was as easy as that. My daughter went to the ER a few months ago.....kindney stone and strep throat. She tried to get into the Dr's she went to before......booked. Told her to go to ER...she just lost her job and had no money..no insurance...they wouldn't see her until payment arrangements were made IN ADVANCE. This is a not for profit hospital.....to top it off her dad works there. But they've changed their policy....if it's not paid....it immediatly gets turned over to a credit collector. So they called me for conformation even though she is an adult and neither of us are supposidly legally responsible for her. I said ok....but that I couldn't pay in advance because they wanted credit card numbers and the whole smear before she was even seen......I agreed to an amount per month. Fine......she was treated.....I send my payments as agreed and they still call and harrass me atleast once a week. Out of 4 payments they "lost"2 until I could prove it....which I did....but in the meantime.....I'm feeling like a thug is going to show up at the door. I have NEVER been to an ER and not been run through the ringer for payment and not been harrassed till every last cent was paid. They had my mom at the verge of a nervous breakdown because medicare wasn't prompt with their payment and they got threatning letters......she paid...medicare finally paid.....took a lawyer a a couple years to get their money back. I'd like to see where this ease of "free care" is by just showing up at the ER.

crazybird...you need to request an audience with your Congressmen, Senators and members of your state legislature. Demand that they investigate this issue and the hospital's means of handling it and treating your daughters illness.
