What the Fourteenth Amendment Actually Says
Amending the FIRST SENTENCE of the Fourteenth Amendment to Eliminate Birthright Citizenship
Section I of the Fourteenth Amendment to our Constitution now is the subject of much discussion. It is important to remind ourselves that some lawmakers and other conservative activists are talking about amending only its FIRST SENTENCE, which dealt specifically with insuring U.S. citizenship and full rights to freed slaves after the Civil War. No one is suggesting that the entire "14th Amendment be repealed", as liberal commentators are trumpeting in newspaper commentaries and over the air! Below is what the first and last sections of the entire Amendment actually says with a link to its full provisions.
[It may be important to note that the qualifying phrase "within the jursidiction" is used twice in this Section of Amendment XIV. This also should help provide a Constitution rebuttal to Open Borders advocates like John McCain. who wish us to believe with them that the rights afforded to U.S. citizens by the U.S. Consitition should extend automatically to "all humanity".]

"Section 1. All pesons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within the jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
"Section 5. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article."

Read this interesting debate on the 14th Amendment which was held in 1866. I don't know if this is the entire debate or not. But it is worth readin and all ALIPAC members should read it.
