    Los Angeles to Kick Off Events in 50 States to Highlight Urgency of Approving Immigration Reform Legislation. New USC Study Points to Benefits for California with Passage of Immigration Overhaul

    Los Angeles – Faith, labor, education, immigrant rights, and community leaders and families will announce USC/CHIRLA study results and renewed efforts to engage California’s 53 Congressional Representatives and its two Senators in fifty-five coordinated activities focusing on garnering support for immigration reform. A recent UCLA study puts the economic boost to our nation’s economy at $1.5 trillion if immigrants go through a legalization program. Serious, practical, and humane solutions can be reached in Congress in 2010. A diverse coalition of more than 700 organizations seeks to have immigrants go through not around an immigration laws system. Activities and efforts will be underway in all 50 states emphasizing the need for real and fair solutions that will benefit our economy, our family, and our nation.

    WHAT: Kick off press event to announce results of a study by University of Southern California highlighting economic benefits for California with the approval of immigration reform legislation. Community leaders will announce effort to conduct 53 individual visits and activities targeting each member of the State’s Congressional Delegation and the two Senators. Rally will follow press event.

    This "Economic Benefits of Immigration" Study is such a con job. You can prove any point you want by hand selecting the data and with CHIRLA in charge you know they have. With Social Security already headed for collapse the last thing we need is 20 million claimants we didn't have before. CAUSA has already "kicked it off" in this state: They managed to get 20 people to a rally.

    As long as they are expertly coached on how to get in on any conceivanble benefit there will be no economic advantage.
