Glenn Beck tonight (2/25/08) - Chertoff Interview (see it?)
I am curious if anyone had caught this this evening.
He did a fairly short interview with Chertoff.
He talked about 3 limited topics:
1. Increase in fines for illegal employers
2. Fencing related issues (virtual vs. actual, etc)
3. The importance of "no-match" letters sent to employers. He said the business groups have lobbied hard to help stop this initiative. As you probably already know, it is held up in the 9th Circuit Court (SF, CA) under an injunction to stop the current practice. This was the topic he spoke about most or most intensively It goes to show that the SAVE Act represents the possibility to make serious progress in the area of illegal employment.
...Just FYI for anyone interested.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Yes I saw it.
He said the virtual was to be placed in areas that are not feasible for an actual fence. (mountains)
He said they are limited in the new fines by the current law and that Congress would not raise the level of fines last year.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Since is was very ill and has had a long recuperation, I think they are still trying to get the logistics together. That was the last thing I heard. I guess there is a lot to it, including security. Most of the networks and papers down there won't confront it any more because of threats to the stations and the individual families in the area. So I think he has a lot to contend with when he goes.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
