Congress is set to reauthorize three controversial provisions of the surveillance law as early as Thursday. But Wyden says that what Congress will renew is a mere fig leaf for a far broader legal interpretation of the Patriot Act that the government keeps to itself — entirely in secret. The problem is that the majority don't want to find out. I keep hearing from friends and such that "they'd love to be more involved"... but then they all say that they are to busy with work, family, and especially making their own budget and ends meet along with putting food on the table. Most are already juggling so much they don't want to fit in calling their congressmen and so on. Hell most don't even have or want to find the extra time to find out what stances candidates really have on important issues as most spend a lot of time trying to hide those stances and only show stances on a few topics that really won't matter much.
