The 4th of July: Seems extra special this year?

I don't know about you, but to me, this 4th of July seems to taste extra special this year, 2007.

To me, it is is special because for the first time in a long time, the American people came together as one and fought tooth and nail to defeat this terrrible Kennedy immigration bill that threatened to change forever the American way of life that most of us knew.

I am still amazed how the American people stood up as one and fought back those supporters of illegal immigration, supporters who seemed to confidently believe that this terrible Kennedy immigration bill would easily be passed in the Senate within a week and the American people would not say anything.

Anyway, I say that this 2007 4th of July tastes extra sweet because for the first time in a long time, Americans rose up as one and defeated a terrible Kennedy immigration bill, an immigration bill that favored the demands of illegal
immigrants over the needs and wants of American citizens. mirse

I'm very much in agreement with you, mirse. I am still deeply troubled, though, with the fact that there are so many people, organizations, politicians, media pundits, and government officials willing to convert America into a member of the third world at the expense of the American citizen. I just do not understand that mindset nor am I ever willing to accept it.

So true. We are growing in numbers. The silent majority is waking up and taking action. We just need to keep recruiting Americans who are fed up.

You are so right, mirse. We can all be a little extra proud as we celebrate the 4th this year.

Just chiming in with my agreement and to say Happy 4th to everybody. This year it does feel different, we as proud Americans stood up for our country and won. Enjoy this day knowing had we not accomplished our goal this would have been a much more somber day.

Please also remember we have friends, family, neighbors, etc still serving in a war as we celebrate today. Say a prayer and celebrate for those that cannot be with us today.

Thanks for being a great group of people here, and thanks to William for laying the first rock that started this landslide of a movement here at Alipac.
