    NumbersUSA Action Alert: Blast Rep. Lofgren

    Blast Rep. Lofgren for proposing PERMANENT INCREASES in H-1B visas

    This is a special action request for NumbersUSA members who have selected "programmer" or "hi-tech" interests on their surveys.

    As you know, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) has introduced the Strengthening United States Technology and Innovation Act (H.R. 5642), which would TRIPLE the current H-1B visa cap to 195,000 in 2008 and 2009.

    Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) is calling for a bill that would make Rep. Smith's increases permanent.

    Please send this fax to Rep. Lofgren and let her know your displeasure with H.R. 5642.

    It is especially important to contact Rep. Lofgren because she is the Chairwoman of the House Judiciary Immigration Subcommittee.

    I faxed it too. Any California residents will see another Action Alert in the Buffet. Just click on the phone icon for the one to call California radio stations. It will give you a list of California radio hosts, their time, a telephone number/fax number if available and talking points about this bill and Zoe Loefgren. First time I've seen Numbersusa do something like this. Interesting and easy to do.
