    Question on the Amnesty issue...

...i'm new here, but I have lots of questions and motivation to do something about the immigration issue and border issue.

On the amnesty issue, I know it was originally passed by the Senate. Does that mean it will happen? Or are they still debating the issue.

If it is still debating, what can we do to stop this amnesty from going through? It would be very very bad for this country.

    What can I do?

    Patriot,

The Senate bill hasn't passed yet (thank God).
Both the House and Senate bills need to be discussed.
Currently, both the House and Senate have been conducting "town hall" style hearings. The House is actually trying to get more of the American people's voice. The Senate is just doing it as a political smoke screen.

Alipac has many good information resources.

You can also go to, www.numbersusa.com, www.immigrationwatchdog.com, and the www.minutemanhq.com
This site you can fax or email your state officials, and the Washington officials.
    Fax and email away!!!

There are many good links both on Alipac and on FAIR.

    Welcome aboard!

    Thanks. Great to be aboard.

I promise to do everything I can and more. I have already sat down with family and friends and we are all going to do something.

I figure, if I can get at least 5 people to do something, then those 5 people contact 5 people and so forth, we can get something moving quickly.

What is the best way to contact congress, senate, etc. ? If I want to FAX, are their predrafted letters? What about doing a FAX blitz, where you send a bunch of faxes to a bunch of different people?

I want to gather as much information as I can so when I take this to family and friends, they have everything they need and can just start going to town.

    Patriot,

You can purchase fax blasts on the Minuteman website. All the proceeds from their site go to help building the fence.

I'm not sure what Alipac has, I'm fairly new myself. But the email alerts Alipac sends out are great action items.

On FAIR you can put in your zip code, and it will bring up the White House email and fax numbers, then it will give your state's officials fax and email address.
You can also copy and paste the FAIR template into a word file and modify it to your tastes.

I have made templates for all the Utah Congressman, and the White House contacts.
My family and I have been faxing them each day for about 4 months now.

If you want to have some fun, you can go to www.sendabrick.com and actually send a brick to Washington. My family has sent about 18 bricks altogether.

    Sippy,

ALIPAC is a PAC and we give much needed money directly into Congressional campaigns. We also have one of the most renowned groups of activists in America.

We always want to support our friends and allies on this site, but many people find ALIPAC first and that has taken a lot of work and effort.

People find ALIPAC by design and due to a lot of time and money from a lot of people.

Please familiarize yourself with our operations and history so you can properly convey what we do at ALIPAC before sending everyone somewhere else.

    Thanks,

    one other question:

I have come across a ton of web sites that are all devoted to building a fence, stopping illegal immigration, blocking amnesy...there are mind numbing number of these sites.

All seem to want the same thing. There are so many, how do you figure out which ones make the biggest impact? Which ones are the heavy hitters and will have the most clout in stopping illegal immigration, amnesty etc.

Just overwhelmed by the number of sites..need some direction.

First of all - welcome aboard the_patriot. As for the websites you asked about, here are ones that I have found very helpful.

    1. These are for actually doing something:

    http://www.numbersusa.com/index

    http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/

And depending on where you're located, they may be come for your state. For example, Colorado has a couple very helpful ones.

    Hope this helps.

The largest and most active national organizations in America are FAIR, NumbersUSA, The Minutemen, ALIPAC, and Team America PAC.

There are many other great smaller groups, regional groups, and such.

Please check out the Web Links section on the left of your screen.
