    Obama Challenges GOP on Immigration

    Obama Challenges GOP on Immigration
    by Kelly Chernenkoff | March 23, 2011

President Obama has revealed fresh resolve in pressing for immigration legislation Tuesday; challenging Republicans to join his path for reform or face the electoral consequences.

"[P]erhaps some of my Republican friends are gonna start recognizing, if they looked at the last census, that they are gonna have a very hard time winning any elections if they continue to deliberately target anti-immigration sentiment," the president told Spanish-language CNN en Espanol Tuesday in El Salvador.

"I find it ironic that a president who promised immigration reform and failed to deliver, like he has on so many other issues, is now criticizing the other party for issues he has done absolutely nothing on," Republican National Committee Spokesman Sean Spicer tells Fox News.

Mr. Obama has been down this road before. He pushed for passage of immigration legislation in both 2009 and 2010. Those efforts failed.

Now the president wants to tackle the issue anew.

"The president will be making the case to the American people soon about why we need to fix the broken immigration system, as he has done before," a senior administration official tells Fox. "But as he has repeatedly said, it will require Democrats and Republicans working together to get it through Congress."

The president himself reiterated that need for Republican support on the issue Tuesday, then went on to critique the failings of GOP-backed ventures, like the Arizona immigration law. He cited the down-sizing of Republican Arizona Governor Jan Brewer's controversial immigration law because, Mr. Obama said, businesses recognize it's not good for them.

The president appears to think momentum is on his side, saying the American people can rally behind a strong immigration reform effort. He will be testing that theory again when he speaks out on the issue and notes one of the things people always underestimate him on is "how persistent I am."

Both parties need to understand that American citizens don't want CIR. Both parties need to start listening to their employers - us.

"He's getting too much heat over border security, before he gets the rest of his voter base in place, believe me if he could he'd leave that southern border wide open as long as he could before trying to pass amnesty, this little speech is just trying to scare the GOP in hopes some will flip McCain, Graham, etc...

Actually, they are listening to their "employers". Big business is not only their employers they are their OWNERS. Thus, we are nothing more than pawns in the game and what we want no longer matters.

Yo Odumbo, does "shellacking" ring a bell? We already said HELL NO time and time again.

Start enforcing the laws we already have aka deportations or YOU will surely face our electoral consequences in 2012. It will make 2010 look like a cakewalk.

We will be watching for "TRAITORS" intently. Obams seeems to think that ALL mexicans want amnesty. He Is Incorrect. Why would a LEGAL MEXICAN CITIZEN want an amnesty for an Illegal that Is here to snatch his or her job ! He seems to think that the "mexican"vote Is the most Imprtant He was thrust Into office on the backs of WHITE INDEPENDENT VOTERS, and there are a whole lot more of us that them. If the republicans decide to "cave again" they will be In danger of losing their "base". Both parties are pandering to the wrong crowd It seems now,and a third party candidate may jump up and steal the show before 2012. How many times do we have to tell these "CHILDREN" NO

The problem with our politics is we are not in a position to truly clean house. Thus we have a surplus of repetitive traitors seeking and obtaining re-election. Unfortunately, we can't start from scratch. Then there are the sheeple in this country who are too self absorbed to realize (or care) what is going on in this country. They refuse to accept the links that I provide as proof of the destruction of America. It never ceases to amaze me how many of my coworkers/friends avoid talking to me when I bring up the subject of illegal immigration. Many of whom I am sure think I am an obsessive, over exaggerating nut case.

At the end of the day, they still have jobs, their lives are humming along and as long as it doesn't directly affect them on a daily, they don't give a damn.

As for legal Mexicans who support illegal aliens, they have a dog in the fight for amnesty. They want their friends, family members and everyone of their ethnicity to have a seat at America's table . . . . . . FREE OF CHARGE OF COURSE.

They may be here, but how many are legal to vote. Need to enforce our laws and watch the polls.

Our government has allowed our coluntry to be colonized by low skilled foreign labor that produces economic destruction through social welfare.

Shame on our elected officials. JMO

The DEMORATS have been using the SEIU and other unions to help them manipulate the vote. Illegals are voting In elections even though It Is a FELONY to do so. The DEMORATS are encouraging ILLEGALS to vote by proxy. Why Isn't there a full blown Investigation on this Because the DEMORATS want the votes, and the RINO's want the cheap labor. To hell with our AMERICAN CITIZENS....
