Everyone rename your router to “Minuteman”
I noticed this when I was setting up my router. There were about 8 to 10 routers that are visible to my wireless access point. Most had general names, but 4 had Spanish names, like Juan and so forth. I renamed my router to “Minuteman” within two days all four disappeared. One came back with a generic router name. I know it was renamed because my wireless scanning software also shows the routers “mac number” that you can’t change. But 3 of them never came back online.
As far as I see it, this could accomplish two main things;
1) It will let you know if there are any illegals online in your neighborhood. And send them a message of just how close the Minuteman are.
2) It will show a level unity. Think of it; what if everyone coast to coast did this. Everyone would see just how many people are against the illegals. It would be an anonymous but certainly not a silent protest that would reach across the country. I bet it could outdue the national protests they had July 5th. The best part is that this protest will never stop, and most likely grow as time passes. Think of it; our public officials use the Internet, they too would “have to” see the numbers.
If you like my idea, do it and pass the word. Lets see how long before the news media acknowledge this movement.<div>“There is no longer any Left or Right, there is only Tyranny or Liberty ”</div>

That's a good idea. I'll try and figure out how to do that.

Never look at another flag. Remember, that behind Government, there is your country, and that you belong to her as you do belong to your own mother. Stand by her as you would stand by your own mother

routers are used for networking. like if you have more than one pc you can use a wireless router to share your internet connection. Wireless routers give off a signal which tells other pc's who owns it, this is the "network name" you can change this to anything you like.

Interesting idea, the router name. We are all on an old-fashioned hub and keep intending to change to a router. Our internet provider said it would save us $15 a month to switch also. So if the name issue comes up we'll give it a try.

If you start a wifi freenet you may be able to create a valuable resource for local Minuteman Chapters, much the same way ham radio used to be. There are lot of websites devoted to communities setting up free wi-fi "grids" that consists of local users.
Good luck!

Wireless community network
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wireless community networks or wireless community projects are the largely hobbyist-led development of interlinked computer networks using wireless LAN technologies, taking advantage of the recent development of cheap, standardised 802.11b (Wi-Fi) devices to build growing clusters (group of the same or similar elements gathered) of linked, citywide networks, or in rural areas where conventional DSL services are unavailable. Some are being used to link to the wider Internet, particularly where individuals can obtain unmetered internet connections such as ADSL and/or cable modem at fixed costs and share them with friends. Where such access is unavailable or expensive, they can act as a low-cost partial alternative, as the only cost is the fixed cost of the equipment.
