Chicago -- Nearly 200 organizations are coordinating the marches that will be carried out on May 1 for Immigration Reform and for equality in labor rights.

The March 10 Committee, coordinator of the massive marches of 2006 and 2007, is one of the organizers of the next march that will continue the same route: It will start from Union Park, located in Ashland Ave., and Lake St., and will culminate in the Federal Plaza, in Donwtown Chicago.

Jorge Mújica, one of the coordinators, believes the purpose is to have a commemorative march. "More than 12 million are expecting an immigration reform to be approved, since at this time nobody is touching the issue" he indicated.

According to Mújica, the march counts with strong support of woker unions, who will be recruiting members during the mobilization, as well as the endorsement of diverse ethnic groups, that will respond to register citizens to vote and will assist legal residents interested in requesting naturalization.

Anyone of us that belongs to a union should send them a email and tell them we oppose them recruiting at any of these marches.
