Activists from VA and WV: Call your Senators!!!!

Warner (R-VA) up for re-election--his office is saying he may vote 'yes' on the final bill so he sure as heck is going to vote 'yes' on cloture where he voted 'no' the last time!!! Go after him with all you have!!!

Both Rockefeller (D-WV) & Byrd (D-WV) voted no on cloture last time, but I called both their offices and Byrd's was noncommittal on cloture and Rockefeller'S sounded like he was going to vote 'yes' on cloture.

I got the distinct impression neither office was getting many calls and they need to be hammered!!!

WINNING THIS BATTLE IS WITHIN OUR MIDST BUT WE MUST KEEP ON THE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT BEING PUSHED HARD ENOUGH!!!

I tried Warner's DC office but phone was busy so I called his Norfolk office. Spoke to a staffer who knew little but gave her many points and arguements against the bill and requested he vote No on cloture. Warner is definately a possibility to move over to the dark side. He needs more calls from others!!!

I would literally fall over if Sen. Byrd voted for cloture.

He's a co-sponsor of the Grassley amendment, isn't he? If so, that amendment is supposed to be one of those so-called "killer" amendments. Well, we'll pray together that Byrd follows his conscience and votes the correct way.

Warner is pro-OBL and he aligns heavily with agriculture. He's OLD SCHOOL and it's his-way-or-no-way. I doubt he gives a damn about what anyone "threatens" him with on re-election -- Warner is 80 years old and he's been a "lifer". Many assume he will retire after 2008.

No one can tell Warner what to do because he will not listen to anyone. His staff is tight-lipped and non-committal.
