    We need some lawyers!

I am not a lawyer and I am NOT giving out legal advice but:

The last time I checked illegal immigration was still a violation of federal law--as well as crimes that might be committed by Americans--harboring, concealing, assisting. Don't victims have some rights under tort law? Illegal aliens are also considered a danger by such notable legal authorities as THE US STATE DEPARTMENT!! Can one sue for emotional distress in federal court?

And who said that concealing an alien has to mean hiding him/her away in some underground bunker? When they are in any building aren't they concealed from public view? And aren't all illegal aliens placed in the same category--whether you're concealing Osama bin Laden or Sister Maria Carlos Juanita Nguyen Chang from the Tegucigalpa Orphans's Home?

Lawyers are as plentiful as dishwashers....the question is who will put their butt on the line to make a difference?

Captain, I have asked the same question and have yet to understand why lawsuits aren't being filed over Illegal Immigration. IT'S AGAINST THE LAW SO WHY IS IT BEING TOLERATED ON SUCH AN ENORMOUS SCALE?

I also wonder why Californians haven't file class action lawsuits against the city of Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc. Clearly the law is on their side?!!

It is all about money and the corporations have paid off most of the law makers...................... SO we are up against the GREED FACTOR!!! Main stream media is trying its best to brainwash us that we need to accept the poor illegals because MSM is owned by corporations. While we were slumbering the corporations took over. We have a heck of a fight to fight to save our country!

I think what has happened is that nearly all Americans had a tacit toleration for illegal aliens when they were not very common. Even as a kid we had migrant workers up here in the Northwest that would appear around harvest time. I didn't think anything about it; I met one in the bean fields one day and he gave me a bucketfull of beans he had picked--out of pity. But as they settle into our culture and start taking middle class jobs and as the welfare net grows we have become alarmed. And any other nation on earth would feel a duty to protect its struggling workers.

So now I am looking at the Immigration Reform and Control Act in a dry, matter of fact way. If people from a country we were at war with entered this country illegally we would immediately seize them. But the Act doesn't make any distinction--all are in the same category. Moreover, it is not up to us to define what words like harboring, concealing, assisting, referring for employment, etc. mean. That was left up to the writers of the Act--and normally they have to figure for any and all situations that this could occur in. So it seems that "harboring" could have a very broad definition.

As to why governments haven't been sued it seems like an injunctive suit would succeed. I don't know if anyone could collect damages in a tort, but an injunction to challenge certain governmental actions might work. Especially as more courts rule that localities can do what would ordinarily be a federal responsibility. I know it is very hard to find conservative lawyers
