E-Verify Amendments Still In Tact -- Keep Up the Pressure Until Final Vote Today

Please keep phoning your own U.S. Representative (even if he/she usually is pro-illegal-immigration). 202-224-3121

Do NOT make any more calls to the Rule Committee Members (unless they are from your district).

Things are looking good, but we can't be sure until the final vote occurs. Your hard work is definitely paying off.

No amendments to strip the E-Verify language out of the stimulus bill were even filed, which is a huge victory for us. However, since things can change on the Hill at any moment, it is critical that you keep calling your own U.S. Representative to tell them you support the E-Verify language in the bill and hope your Rep. will help ensure that it remains in the bill.

The final vote on the stimulus bill should happen sometime late this afternoon or early this evening.

To be clear, there is currently no amendment to strip the E-Verify language.

Please go to your Action Buffet corkboard and click on the phone note. It will provide talking points to make it easier to make the phone call. And it names your Representative and provides alternative phone numbers to call.

It is not strong enough for the next four to five years. It must at least E-Verify the I-9 Immigrant forms at State Unemployment Offices in the NATION.

This is a gut-grenade. May have to organize a telephone/email/fax campaign to move this back on the agenda.

Obama administration delays federal contractor rule - E-Verify rule delayed for further review

The Obama administration has postponed until May 21 the implementation of a new rule that requires federal contractors to use the E-Verify system for checking the eligibility of their employees to work in the U.S.

The rule originally was scheduled to go into effect Jan. 15, but the Department of Homeland Security delayed the implementation date until Feb. 20 after the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other groups filed a lawsuit aimed at blocking the rule.

Now the rule won’t go into effect until May 21 “in order to permit the new administration an adequate opportunity to review the rule,â€

This program need to stick around one of the best tools we have!

E-Verify is the one program that will open up jobs for American Citizens - jobs that are currently held by illegal aliens.

The whole purpose of the stimulus package is to open up jobs for AMERICANS. As an FYI, illegal aliens are currently working on construction sites (commercial, residential and highway/metro - all jobs that Americans have done until illegals depressed the wages.

Illegals also work in Health Care, Restaurants, Food Processing and grounds maintenance -- all jobs Americans were doing just a decade ago.

When did Congress include Illegal aliens as bail out recipients in the stimulus package that just passed 242 to 189?
