Thread: What does illegal immigration cost us .

Our country is like the Titanic whose only concern is how do we arrange the deckchairs. I have friends who refuse to even discuss the topic of illegal immigrants. Most people don't even know how serious the problem is. It goes beyond illegals taking jobs that Americans need.

There is the problem of what illegal immigrants cost us which is in the billions each and every year. The cost of the kind of education our children get now in comparison to what they used to get. That is just one example.

If you have been to the ER you know how long the wait can be. They always say they want the American dream. The truth is without a social security number you cannot really succeed. To start you cannot get a drivers license without a social security number. Either you take your chances and drive without one or you find a way to get one.

One of the favorite ways to get one is to steal someone else's identification. The favorite target is children maybe because it won't be discovered for years. By that time their finances can be shredded. And that same social security number can be used by other people.

Anchor babies, the idea of a pregnant women coming to the country to give birth to an American citizen. It does not always work but sometimes it can work well. The parents will use the social security of their American born children. When I read that it was difficult to believe that a parent would use their children in that way.

So the cost of illegal immigrants are just about impossible to know in exact numbers. The friend who won't talk about illegal immigrants has been trying to get a job and has been having a difficult time at it. She would be the last person to think it has anything to do with illegal immigrants. After all if she thought that could be true it would make her a bigot. She could never be that.

So how do illegal immigrants affect this country maybe only time can really tell. I don't think we should be rolling the dice on that one.

Samantha55, every one of your points is spot on. We're all victims. Illegal immigration effects every American one way or another!

In case you've never had my neighbors.. Heres just a small example of little, soon to be BIG Mexico.. Turn it up full blast and play it over and over and over. Then take a five minute break and start it all over again. This is going on now and has been for hours.....Its an every nite thing around here.

We did, ours also had a Pit Bull Dog that CHARGED the shared fence in our back yard everytime we went out side. I played LOUD Beetles and Rock music just to blast them out when it happened, made trips over to ask them to turn it down. Finally I said enough is enough because these people had ZERO respect for anyone else! So we NOW live in Texas out in the middle of NO PLACE and our nearest neighbor is 1/2 a mile away! LOVE IT HERE!
