The negative reaction to SB 1070 may cause racism.

The people that I've met over the past 20 years in the anti-illegal immigrant movement were not racist. I have always liked the latino people; they are hard-working and have strong family values. However, their reaction to this reasonable law (SB 1070) has really angered me. The deliberate mischaracterization on the law, and calling those who support it "racists" is despicable. It's the reaction to SB 1070 that has created an emotional response within me, and I find myself feeling strong resentment.

There are racists in the anti illegal immigration movement but racism is not the principal motivator. The motivators are mostly fiscal concerns and citizen anger over having limits which were set democratically being second guessed and ignored. The people calling 1070 racist are mostly not Latino either. There are plenty of Latinos who are citizens or here legally who are against illegal immigration. It is useful to the supporters of amnesty to overlook the major motivators and instead focus on what will perhaps the undecided and uncommitted to side with amnesty.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I've found that when the open borders, amnesty crowd has no good argument, they simply yell "racist" to end the conversation. There's nothing you can do about it and no reason to feel badly about your feelings.

Correct a mundo! The dreaded "R" word no longer holds water with us whiteys- or any other color against illegal immigration for that matter. It's the only card they have left - and it's old, tired, and worn out. Overused by the left and OBLer's so much that it has lost it's perceived effectiveness.

A few years ago, it would have really offended me to be called a racist...now I just laugh and it rolls right off my back. After being in this fight a few years, I've developed a MUCH thicker skin than I used to have. I just don't care anymore - the anger overrides any name they can think up.

Deporting illegal aliens has nothing to do with racism at all. It has to do with being a nation of laws. It has to do with being angry over a "home break-in" on a national scale. These United States of America are the most tolerant, people friendly, charitable, accepting nation on earth bar NONE! These United States of America accept and welcome MORE LEGAL IMMIGRANTS every year than ALL OTHER NATIONS OF THE WORLD COMBINED!!!! That says something for us. You cannot become a citizen of China, Mexico hates immigrants and makes it very hard on anyone crazy enough to want to become a Mexican Citizen -- most 3rd world nations HATE and reject and are RACIST against ANYONE who is NOT of their ethnic group.

ONLY these United States of America accepts people from all over the world and within a generation these PEOPLE are in Congress and the Senate and the Supreme Court and maybe even President...

This nation is the MOST ADVANCED nation on earth when it comes to accepting people into our melting pot.

All we ask is that people stop doing a national "home invasion" of our nation. That is not racist -- enforcing laws is not racist -- and I am sick and tired of whining from PEOPLE WHO HATE US AND ARE 100 TIMES WORSE THAN THE WORST OF US. Here is your Mexico and illegal lovers and their REAL beliefs:

The "Plan of San Diego," a plan written at the South Texas town of San Diego on January 6, 1915. The plan, provided for the formation of a "Liberating Army" to be made up of Mexican Americans and Mexican troops to "free" the states of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, and Colorado from United States control. The liberated states would be organized into an independent republic, which might later seek annexation to Mexico. There would be a no-quarter race war, with summary execution of all white males over the age of sixteen.

Mexican children are taught in school that the United States stole their land “Aztlan.â€
Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.

i agree with the racism issue and how you explain it ... it's the last card the illegals have left ,and because they really don't have anything to lose their going to play it ... now you or i as american citizzens wouldn't go around calling each other racists because it's offensive and we would have some sort of care what societies rules are regarding that kind of thing ... but not the illegals ....

can't say i blame them , i'd use every last trick in the book to fight this if i was in their postion ..

What's overlooked is the racism in the pro-illegal immigration movement. When a country like ours has unemployment and underemployment as we've always had, higher at times than others, always higher amongst Black Americans, what's wrong with our unemployed and underemployed that makes them undesirable to these people who want to bring in foreign workers mostly of the Caucasian race? Why don't they seek out and hire the unemployed and underemployed Americans? Why don't they set up labor networks in our slums and high-poverty, high-unemployment areas where people need jobs and incomes? Why don't they pick up the phone and call Harlem or Watts and hire some workers, instead of Mexico or Guatemala or Brazil or India or Pakistan?

When they claim they hire illegal aliens or even legal foreign workers to "Do the Jobs Americans Won't Do", what Americans are they talking about?

The whole premise of illegal immigration is to hire foreign Caucasian workers instead of American Workers protected by Affirmative Action.

The great irony of the race card in illegal immigration is that the racists are the ones who promote illegal immigration, not the ones trying to stop it.
