Clueless Communists think immigration will split Tea Party
The Nation.
Could Immigration Split the Tea Party?
By The Rachel Maddow Show
March 10, 2010
The Rachel Maddow Show : Guest-hosting the Rachel Maddow Show, Chris Hayes asks, will the Tea Party movement rethink their politics as anti-immigrant activists attempt to join the party?
With the Tea Party movement gaining political clout, the question arises: what issue can divide them? Guest-hosting the Rachel Maddow Show, Chris Hayes reports that immigration may be the key to splitting the Tea Party, and potentially, the Republican base. Earlier on Charlie Rose, Dick Armey, former Republican House Majority Leader and current head of Freedom Works, critiqued former Congressman and anti-immigrant activist Tom Tancredo for advocating a voter literacy test.
"I was, for example, not really happy to see Tom Tancredo on the stage calling himself a tea party guy because of his harsh and uncharitable and mean-spirited attitude on the immigration issue," said Armey.
Joining Hayes is Deepak Bhargava, executive director of the Center for Community Change, a grassroots advocacy group that focuses on policies affecting low-income people and people of color. As Bhargava explains, anti-immigrant activists have attempted to find support in the party, while Obama stresses immigration reform and Republicans lose support with anti-immigrant platforms. "It's no surprise that [anti-immigrant activists] are looking to get on the Tea Party bandwagon," says Bhargava. "But I don't think that's going to work because it's going to divide the base of that movement.

And what exactly is Deepak's definition of "immigrant?" The folks here legally or the ones that just fell off the boat without permission?

It would be my guess that the majority of the Tea Party activist are anti-illegal immigration. IMO, it's the self-appointed talking heads of the Tea Party that are purposely manipulating the party into ignoring illegal immigration. Ironically, these are the same folks that support people like John McCain."The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**

People joined the Tea Party because of our government run amok. Uncontrolled spending (alot of it directly related to illegal immigration), arrogant politicians, bowing to special interests (of which many are pro-ilegal alien), high taxes and tremendous loss of jobs (directly related to illegal immigration).
So tell me again how this will "split" the Tea Party?
It's about economics and personal responsibility. Illegal aliens are getting and taking billions of our tax dollars, which should go to Americans and legal residents. Let's not even talk about illegal aliens' personal responsibility.
WE the people have said NO to amnesty, YES to enforcement. Get it done!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

But I dont think this will work.

Careful with paying too mauch attention to these words of propaganda. They are meant to divide us and conquer us. To split us apart is all it is for. We are a threat to the power elite now that our grass roots efforts are swelling with the ranks of people who are waking up to the lies they've been pacified, and shackled with.

Yea, it IS GOING TO DIVIDE THE MOVEMENT.
Between the 90% of us in the Tea Party movement that oppose illegal immigration and Amnesty and the
10% that support Amnesty like Dick Armey!
