    Leaving Bank of UnAmerica

Hey guys, I have put this off for awhile but cannot deal with the Bank of unAmerica anymore. Anyway, does anyone know anything about this bank and do you use and trust it?

    I appreciate your input.

It's not on the list of good or bad. I'd ask them if they accept the Matricula Card. If they do, they suck.

I'm in the same boat. There is a banking forum that has some info there and a link that gives the rundown on some banks.

You don't have to go with the BIG banks for a credit card.

I got mine thru my credit union who offers it in conjunction with a large LOCAL bank.

Many LOCAL banks also offer cards.

I was just in B of A this morning,

I tried to purchase a cashiers check for 3K. They required a form to be filled out listing the usual stuff, but I balked at the last one where they would not accept my PO box and demanded my physical address. That's too far for a bank. I am not going to put my location down fro them to sell or use against me or market to me. I left without the check. They even asked for my social security number right there with people standing all around me to listen in, and when i stated objection to that based on that reason, they actually started reading it off to me from the computer to verify it. Unbelievable! My social security number is being used right now by someone other than me already.
This bank has dropped all semblance of propriety in dealing us little people. They just don't care about anything but their monetary goals and dominance.
It will not be enough to send a letter. We will have to march on washington and dictate terms in the white house

Yeah, the SSN thing irritates me. Standard retorts to the question can be:

    "What's YOURS"?
    or
"What is my Social Security Number? It is for the Social Security Administration. Are you they?"

Apparently they originally stated not to surrender the number to anyone else. This is also interesting.....
