What it will take to end illegal immgration.

We need to purge this country of illegal immigrants. It will take time but it is not that difficult -- we need the will to do it -- something Democrats lack.

Look to the Eisenhower removal of illegals in 1954 as the model. First we need strong work verification which EVERY EMPLOYER must use. We need strong interior enforcement which means MORE RAIDS. We need to punish these employers with HEAVY FINES so that if financially bites to hire illegals. We need to deny illegals any taxpayer funded benefits. We need to limit appeals of deportation orders -- we may need more BIA judges but we must limit their ability to grant immigration relief from deportation. We must punish sanctuary cities and take away any government allotted funds. CHurches who give sanctuary to illegal immigrants should have their tax exempt status removed.

Now with jobs drying up, raids underway many if not most illegals will self-deport --especially the ones living South of our Borders.

Now the question has been raised about countries who refuse to take their illegals back. Again Sen. Specter has proposed legislation to handle that situation -- deny visas to all residents of countries who refuse to their natives back. Also I would go one step further and freeze all foreign aid to those countries and maybe freeze money in US Banks to pay for the illegals in this country that they refuse to take back.

If an illegal has a serious illness in detention and before we can deport him I would force the immigrants home country to pay the bill as punishment for refusing to accept return.

Children of illegals (anchor babies) - parents cause their problem -- they could either take their children back with them and get citizenship for their children in their home country or surrender their child and all rights to welfare agencies.

I would NEVER allow an illegal immigrant to gain US Citizenship. I would never allow and Anchor Baby to sponsor their family for immigration to the US. Anchor Babies must lose ALL family reunification rigths.

The somewhere along the line we need a sensible reform of our immigration policy along with acknowlegement that agricultural workers are needed in some industries -- even as a child (an I am 73) I remember a program for agricultural workers in California called the Bracero program - But Senator Kennedy forced an end to that program. That program did not lead to too many overstays as they got shipped back and ppart of their wages withheld until they returned to Mexico.

I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

It is also important that the immigrants from another country invest there rather than using those discretionary funds to bring friends and relatives here. Right now a lot of money is being sent as remittances however most of the money is being spent by recipients on manufactured food and clothing and on modern housing that is often designed as a form of conspicuous consumption.

It would be better if the remittance money supported raising their own food, making their own clothing and were spent on barns, warehouses and factory shells. It is easier to finance home construction with income from productive assets than the other way around.

    Welcome judyweller!

America has an addiction to illegal immigrant labor. Every year we create more vocations that are in the "managerial" category: They are service jobs that do not directly produce tangible value. They may not fit the category of "honest toil" even if there may be no actual laws against them. America has always had some of this going on, but with the rise of the higher educational system as a major player in US politics it has now gone out of control. Please note: I am not criticizing higher education that produces talented, scientifically or technically savvy people.

In order to keep putting exportable products on to world markets the US in the past has relied on talented, technically skilled craftsmen. The mangerial jobs played an important function---as a sort of glue to enable the manually operative tasks get to greater efficency and to enable American products to outsell foreign competitors. However, with higher education cranking out more and more service oriented persons--who also expect high levels of compensation---industries are struggling to find qualified manual workers. Hence we import them. Furthermore, American consumers have gone from being well organized shoppers--dependent upon a skilled population of store personnnel--to more spur of the moment convenience buyers---and this has also promoted a low paid industry i.e. convenience stores, fast food, etc.

What does it take to end illegal immigration? Much of it is going to take some big cultural shifts. In order to support an elite class of debaters, visionaries, philosophes...we have always relied upon immigrant labor and tended ourselves to disdain hard, manual labor. And in the last few decades we have seen that elite class grow out of bounds. I call them the "cafe crowd." They are liberlas who cannot see where their own activities are leading. That will have to change. But, OTOH, our skilled work must be in new areas that will compete in an increasingly intensified global marketplace. Whether it will, in the minds of the American people is the Big Question. We can easily lose this struggle if Democrats----shills for the big institutions that are furthering these trends--gain more seats in the US Congress.

    Welcome Judy .

I agree with all you say . But how do we get them to listen ? How do we make these needed changes?

They already know most Americans want controlled immigration, but they don't give a darn !

We have been infiltrated by enemies from all over the world .

We also have some loyal immirants who assimilate and love this nation and bring with them abilitiy to improve the nation . But these are becoming fewer with every pasing year. It seems they are delibertly kept out so the ones who bring nothing but trouble and social and economic tyranny can increase their forces.

We have paramilitary groups of hispanics and muslims all over our nation now. They seem to be under our governments protection.

Our culture ,language and freedom of religian is being taken away . i don't care if we have moment of silence in school or not, i can teach mine at home . But when I see foot baths and radical schools being funded by my tax dollar and schools teaching porn in the name of freedom of speech and liberty, it lets me know that we are on the way to exstinction.

We are at the point of no return !

It's not the leaders, it's us ! We let them slowly erode our freedom liberty and values . We cowered down to criminals and perverts and now we will stand up and take our nation back, or we will become a third world nation or even be destroyed when we are no longer useful to the world.

There is no way we can keep supporting third world , we have been broke for a long time. Our resources are depleting .

What will it take? Ultimately it will take admitting 100 million new legal immigrants into the USA from India, Korea, Indochina, non-Muslim Africa, and any other place where they don't speak Chinese or Spanish (I'm totally ignorant of Brazilian culture.) And I suppose any Europeans that want to make the change. This will bust and dilute the communities of 100,000+ with 70% Hispanic/Latino/Mexican populations, and get the USA back on track to being a democratic republic, and not sinking into some third world Latin American plantation.

The Bracero Program was not a success. More of a gov't sanctioned OBL corporate favor. Illegal immigration THRIVED during the Bracero years. As did wage deression. THAT is why Kennedy (John) ended it. Ted had little to do with it.
