Education and Immigration Meet.
Not sure about this program. Check out this video, these do not look like farmworkers to me.

There is no supply shortage for the schools, it’s just that there are too too many illegal aliens and anchor babies using up (stealing) the supplies budgeted for the real students. And that’s true all over the country. Every time you hear that something is “brokenâ€

Yup, NoBueno, didn't look like they interviewed any farmworkers. The ones they interviewed must be their anchor babies.
Wonder where they get their funding? I'll give myself ONE GUESS: US taxpayers. (Did I win a prize for guessing correctly? )PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH. PRESS 2 FOR DEPORTATION.

K-12 is near and dear to me as I spent so much time working there. Whenever you are told that the art program couldn't be funded or they had to cut back on field trips, or anything of that nature, check to see what's going on with the ESL program. Chances are, it needed a boost.

Yep the NCLB is not working complaint once again.
Sorry but parents have to get involved with their children in order to create a successful educational agenda. So many let their children "over-ride" their parents. I knew one young woman who wanted to "rule the roost" and she didn't graduate with the class she should have because the parents didn't intervene (legal immigrants). There were resources within the school district BUT the parents chose NOT TO FOLLOW-UP on those resources. I worked with her during her final year, she ended up graduating and now works as a customer service phone rep. Her ability as a bi-lingual person is what got her hired. She has thanked me many times over for giving her the push her parents did not.
After being in Mexico, I know can see WHY the parents are to some degree because these children are not motivated to stay in school. The schools there operate TOTALLY different. They were supposedly lengthening the school day there to be the equivalent of the US but during my time there, hours were 8am to 1pm. Overcrowded classrooms and I witnessed teachers who could not control these classrooms. It was a very sad thing to see.
