    If there was not any concern or reality for the Super Highway, why did the Senate vote on this bill? Cheney is a liar. He is Darth Vader.

    HCON Resolution 487 - No NAFTA Super Highway and No North American Union

    U.S. House of Representatives

    Expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada. 2d Session

    H. CON. RES. 487

    Expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada.

    IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

    September 28, 2006

    Mr. GOODE (for himself, Mr. PAUL, Mr. JONES of North Carolina, and Mr. TANCREDO) submitted the following concurrent resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and in addition to the Committee on International Relations, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

    —————————

    CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

    Expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada.

    Whereas, according to the Department of Commerce, United States trade deficits with Mexico and Canada have significantly widened since the implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA);

    Whereas the economic and physical security of the United States is impaired by the potential loss of control of its borders attendant to the full operation of NAFTA;

    Whereas a NAFTA Superhighway System from the west coast of Mexico through the United States and into Canada has been suggested as part of a North American Union;

    Whereas it would be particularly difficult for Americans to collect insurance from Mexican companies which employ Mexican drivers involved in accidents in the United States, which would increase the insurance rates for American drivers;

    Whereas future unrestricted foreign trucking into the United States can pose a safety hazard due to inadequate maintenance and inspection, and can act collaterally as a conduit for the entry into the United States of illegal drugs, illegal human smuggling, and terrorist activities; and

    Whereas a NAFTA Superhighway System would be funded by foreign consortiums and controlled by foreign management, which threatens the sovereignty of the United States: Now, therefore, be it

    Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That–

    (1) the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System;

    (2) the United States should not enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada; and

    (3) the President should indicate strong opposition to these or any other proposals that threaten the sovereignty of the United States.

    Special Projects

    NASCO’s Technology Project - NAFTRACS

    North American Facilitation of Transportation, Trade, Reduced Congestion & Security (NAFTRACS) is a three phase pilot project designed to focus on business processes and information as freight is transported from buyers to sellers. The project is intended to create a partnership between businesses and local, state, and federal governments, while fostering cooperation amongst the same entities. The pilot project will use actual freight shipments moving through the I-35/29/80/94 trade corridor. This project will engage voluntary industry participants who will allow actual freight shipments to be tracked and monitored for location and condition of freight. Various federal and state DOT participants will have access to the appropriate and necessary information as necessitated by the pilot project concept of operations rules and methodology. Business processes, systems architecture and data flow will comply with World Customs Organization’s (WCO) “Framework of Standardsâ€

    The drug cartels in Mexico are buying up the trucking companies.
    We don't need more of this. We need to stop NAFTA. It is destroying America. I think everyone knows someone that has suffered due to these stupid trade agreements.
    And who benefits? Not Americans. Mexico does, but most of all it's China. We are getting tainted food and crap from China and no one has the ability or willingness to stop it. How many children have been playing with toys tainted with lead based paint? How much damage is done to Americans every day eating food and handling products from China and other third world countries?
    I no longer buy any products produced in any country other then America. I never go to Walmart. All their companies are in China. Not to mention the are pro amnesty.
    I think we need to take a big stand, but also the smaller ones. Boycott any company that has their products produced in China or other countries that are destroying America.
    Cheney lies. That's not news. Bush lies, that's not news. They all do. They are for the union of America, Canada and Mexico. We need to keep fighting the Superhighway, the SPP and all the other crap they are trying to force down our throats. The Superhighway is not going to benefit Americans in any way. Do you want to be on the road with these Mexican trucks? Do you want your children anywhere near them?
    I've heard so many stories about the Superhighway I can't keep them straight. That alone tells me enough. But I believe it's happening and we have to stop it.
    Getting someone in office that is actually American and supports Americans would be the first good step. Until then we fight and try to hold our ground.
    God Bless America!

    The mere fact that the Vice President decided to comment on the issue says something.

    I think the point is being missed. He's not denying that there is a plan. He just said it's NOT a secret. It's going to happen and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

    Well the whole Bush administration has been lying to us for almost 8 years so why would they stop? And Chaney is a rat plain and simple!
