This amendment removes provision that bars sharing information used in obtaining "Z" visas.

Can someone explain to me what this means?
"Calling an illegal alien an undocumented immigrant is like calling a burglar an uninvited house guest."

I'll try to explain this. In the immigration bill, there's a provision that stops information sharing between state and fedral governments concerning illegals when they come forward to be investigated. The Cornyn amendment removes that provision so governments will now be allowed to share information to investigate criminal illegals.

I hope you are right drudge is reporting it failed and kennedys passed .
Heck it may be a different ammendment but this according to drudge .

The vote was 51-46 against the amendment. Democrats succeeded in sucking support from Cornyn's proposal by winning adoption of a rival version that would bar a more limited set of criminals, including certain gang members and sex offenders, from gaining legalization. The Senate backed that amendment 66-32

I don't know if thats good or bad . The bill is bad either way . Maybe more will be against it if they don't get their ammendments passed .

Those were two different ammendments. Cornyn's other ammendment did fail, but the one that supposedly passed, is a different ammendment.

Kennedy's bill passed. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? He didn't like the other amendment because it included illegals who had ignored deportation orders and identity thieves!

Because that would eliminate too many. And ONLY some gang members and sex offenders would be deproted.

How do ANY of those who voted against Cornyn's justify this??

BTW, there is an ad that is going to start running on CNN, FOX and various stations all across the country that has three little old ladies looking at the boarder and saying "Where's the Fence?" It's a take off on "Where's the beef". They want everyone to call their reps and say, "Where's the fence?"
