I heard from LULAC that on Friday the joint committee stripped the funding from illegal aliens.

Bush says he is going to veto this because it's expanding socalized medical care.

SCHIP will go to the Senate later this week; Bush is expected to veto it by Friday.

Even though the verbage in the Bill says illegals will NOT be covered, Health and Human Services Chairman, Leavitt (on CSPAN) said that there will be no way of verifying the legal status of children...thus the illegals "will slip through the cracks".

He also said that 90% of children are already privately covered, but most of them will switch over to government healthcare because it will include families making up to $83K a year!!! There are 6M kids already on SCHIP whose parents make too much for Medicaid, and the new BIll provides for NEW FUNDS to insure an ADDITIONAL 4M more kids (aka illegals)!!

This isn't about kids...it's about socialized or Nationalized healthcare!!! It's the precursor to National heathcare for everyone!

This is the same thing I heard and I can tell you people making 83,000$$$ a year should not be getting free health care there are way more needy, and they also need to make it part of a bill that they are allowed to check legal states to receive it.

The income limits will be too high in the proposal. Also, read somewhere that states will have the option of insuring illegal aliens. Any with insurance may just jump to cheap government coverage and saddle the taxpayers will the cost burden.
