Big rise in arrests of immigrants

If you will notice in the article, some bleeding hearts, think that the illegals are being treated mean!

Big rise in arrests of immigrants WASHINGTON - In recent months, newly created teams of federal agents have arrested thousands of illegal immigrants who have lived and worked in the United States for years without interference. Most have been deported immediately. Since October, 13,089 immigrants have been detained, a more than 60 percent increase from the same period in 2004. Immigrant advocates called the sweeps excessive and heavy-handed, while supporters of tougher enforcement said that even more must to be done. ``Whenever we do any sort of enforcement action, we get praise and criticism,'' said Dean Boyd of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Since October, the number of fugitive-search teams assigned to finding immigrants where they live has increased from 18 to 38. The agency plans 14 more teams by the end of September. ``It's a higher priority,'' said John Torres, the director of ICE's detention and removal operations.

I've read more about these teams in other papers. If I'm not mistaken, they are hunting for CRIMINAL illegal aliens.
These immigrant advocates need to get real. Yeah, these poor immigrants are just minding their own business, committing crimes and not bothering anyone. Ohhh, my heart goes out to them. They should jail them for long prison terms and then immediately deport them.
It's about time ICE was serious about this. There should be 138 teams, not 38.

13,000 - and they think that's a lot - my gosh in the scheme of things, that;s nothing.
    .
It might be better than nothing - if they are criminals - and not petty criminals. If they aren't - it is worse than nothing. It is a waste of time, money and resources, that could be put to better use.

But if they aren't, why are they tying up ICE to round up just 13,000 in several months?

They could get that many everyday - with no problem.

From what I have read and heard on the internet I would guess that we have more than 10,000 a day coming into this country, so they are removing only enough to make up for 1 day. One gal said they have 1,000 a night coming across the Tucson sector and another 1,000 coming across the sector right next to it. This is just in Arizona, EVERY NIGHT! and the coyote's are intimidating the ranchers so they won't call the border patrol.

The official that said that no matter what they do they either get praise or criticism sounds like a real crybaby. They are enforcement officers and they don't work for warm fuzzies they work for our tax dollars. If I did my job as poorly as they do I wouldn't have a job.

Can you believe it 12 to 20 million illegals and they are bragging about catching a few thousand since October. Maybe there are some jobs Americans just won't do THEIRS.
