NY: new senator voices support for amnesty
Looks like the OBL is lobbying her furiously. You can contact her through the below link, her House office, as it doesn't look like she has a Senate website yet[/i]:

NY Senator Changes Tune on Immigration
El Diario/La Prensa, Posted: Jan 25, 2009
NEW YORK - An editorial published in the Saturday, Jan. 24 edition of New York's El Diario/La Prensa called the new state senator from New York, Kirsten Gillibrand, a "disappointing choice" and a slap in the face to immigrant New Yorkers. However, the front page of the same newspaper announced on Sunday that the senator had "softened her tone" on immigration.
Gillibrand, who was chosen by the Governor David Paterson Friday to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate, was received with skepticism by leaders of the state's immigrant community for her support of local police officers taking on efforts to enforce immigration law.
On Saturday, however, she told New York's television channel NY1 that the United States needs to "ensure that anyone who wants to work in this country has a way to stay here legally." She said she would work to achieve this, and went on to describe the separation of families due to immigration policies as a tragedy. Gillibrand said she plans to meet with Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez to learn more about immigration reform.

And this is what she says about immigration on her House website. Please remind her that "earned legalization" schemes are in fact amnesty and if she is truly committed for fighting for American workers, she will oppose such amnesty schemes which would be very harmful to millions of unemployed New York & American workers:
---
---
Our immigration system is broken and hard-working Americans often bear the brunt of the federal government’s failure to secure our borders and provide adequate protections for the American worker and the shrinking American Middle Class. I believe the first step to fixing our immigration system is to stop the flow of illegal immigration. This can be accomplished by securing the Southern border, enforcing the employment laws on the books and ensuring that our farmers and businesses have the adequate number of legal workers after they have exhausted their search for American workers. I am firmly against providing amnesty to illegal immigrants. In my first year in Congress, I passed legislation on the floor of the House of Representatives that would bar employers, who knowingly hire illegal immigrants, from receiving federal contracts.
In addition, I am a sponsor of the SAVE Act, which will hire 8,000 new Customs and Border Patrol agents, while utilizing new technology and fencing along the border. I have also sponsored the Legal Employee Verification Act, which would require all employers to verify, through the Social Security Administration, that their employees are legal. In addition,
I support reforming and streamlining the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) so that the extraordinary casework backlog will be addressed within two years. This is especially important for the thousands of farmers in our district who need legal workers. I am confident that Congress can enact reform without providing amnesty to illegal immigrants. This is a national and economic security issue for our country and I am committed to fighting for the American worker.

Gillibrand a sellout?
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Well that was FAST! And she didn't even get to Washington yet.
Just the other day I was thinking that I liked some of her views because she appeared to be more of a conservative Democrat.
Not to mention that I got an email from Numbers USA saying that she had a B rating on illegal immigration, which in NY is actually quite good! I was thinking to myself, well she sounds good but let's see how long it takes before she becomes a sell out.... now we know.

The Globalists are telling this candidate that they must adhere to the single party plan to qualify for an appointment to the US Senate.
Sellout or washout!

Here is what she says on her campaign for Congress website. Please e-mail or call her and hold her to these words:
----
STOPPING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION:
In Congress, Congresswoman Gillibrand has been a firm opponent of any proposal that would give amnesty to illegal aliens. The federal government must provide the necessary resources to secure our borders, which is critical for America’s economic and national security. She strongly supports legislation that would significantly increase the number of border patrol agents and place sophisticated technology along the Southern border to catch human and drug smugglers.
Congresswoman Gillibrand authored and passed an amendment that will prevent employers who have hired illegal aliens from receiving federal contracts.
In addition, Congresswoman Gillibrand believes English should be made the official language of the United States and she opposes providing non-emergency taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens. As a Member of the Agriculture Committee, she has advocated for a review of the current H-2A visa system, so that farmers will have access to legal workers when they cannot find Americans to fill their labor needs.
