The Coalición por una Reforma Migratoria Amplia (CCIR) announced Wednesday a second phase of a telephone campaign in order to gete Congress to approve immigration reform with path to citizenship in 2007 for the 12 million illegal alians that are living in our country. They say that the first phase was very successful and that they registered more than 89,000 calls (per Cheryl Aguilar, Communications Director of Center for Community Change (CCC).
During the second phase, which will take place from May 1st to May 3rd (today), the immigrant community and their simpathizers can have the power to “demand” (THE NERVE) congress to approve a just immigration reform NOW.
There are 2 telephone numbers available, most of them will probably be calling the espanol number.

CCIR gives the illegals the following instructions:

Listen to the message,
• Press option 2 to be connected to your representative (as if they have a representative)
• The system will connect you automatically based on your telephonenumber.
• If the system cannot identify your number, it will ask you to press the 10 digits of your telephone number including the area code.
• The sistem will then tell you the name of your Congressman (again THE NERVE!)
• The system will ask you to press 1 to be connected to your congressman.
• When the assistant of the congressman answers, say the following:
• Cuando el asistente de su congresista conteste el teléfono diga lo siguiente: "Hello, my name is (illegal alien) and I live in (Mexifornia or wherever). I am calling to ask the Representative to Pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform this year. Thank you". If the message is in spanish, blah blah blah instructions.
CCIR tells the illegals “If the lines are busy, please keep calling. “Our” Congressmen need to hear from you and you can help make this debate go our way blah blah blah, more illegal talk…..”
