Heavy Action Coming This Week from ALIPAC Activists
I hope everyone is ready to make a bunch of calls.
This coming week, we will reorient on the US Senate. They are starting to get cold feet. It is looking more like our movements pressure is preventing them from getting the Guest Worker Amnesty horse out of the barn.
We are also going to mount a call campaign to the Georgia Legislature in support of the immigration enforcement legislation DA King has been pushing there.
Most of this week will be a two pronged political advance on the US Senate and the GA Legislature.

Could you give us the contact numbers for the Georgia project and info about the bill? I'll call 'em. I want to support D A King's work.

The analysis over at SOS is that Specters bill is probably dead, but the McCain Kennedy amnesty bill would pass if brought to a vote. The best way to stop this is put pressure on Senators Graham (SC), Hatch (Idaho), DeWine (Ohio), and Kohl (Wisconsin). All except Graham are up for re-election. If these four do not vote for it, it will not pass.
The rest either oppose a full amnesty or are beyond hope, no matter what we do short of an armed revolution.

Good Cartoon, Tim. And so TRUE!
Tim, Hatch is from Utah. Not Idaho. And he seems really nervous and anxious to let people know hes NOT for amnesty. His website even mentions his misgivings about illegals. I think there is a very good chance of swaying him away from a vote for shamnesty.
Brownback is a presidential hopeful, at least that is what I have written down from a bulletin I got from either Tancredo or FAir months ago. He is quoted as saying(after March 2nd committee), that the amnesty of 1986 didnt work, the 1996 eforcement crackdown didnt work, so that means we need BOTH together. WE NEED TO CALL HIM ON THAT MISINFORMATION!
Neither worked because the enforcement provisions were purposely ignored. It was a cynical smoke and mirrors game by the Congress AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE FOOLED BY HIS SPIN ON IT!!
Kohl used to have a decent vote record on immigration. But really bad on amnesties, past and present.
Tom Coburn doesn't have the worst of records on immigration. He has A+ on reducing amnesties in both past and recent votes. He's a Republican and would be sensitve to all the Republicans losing their spots in 2006. We might be able to influence him to join our two Patriots - Sessions and Grassley. I intend to talk about his great record and ask him to continue it and uphold the rule of law.
Graham is the one who said that Americans need to grow up and realize these people are here for the right reasons. We need to call him on that, too. How can being here illegally be the right reason. Unless you are a crime syndicate anxious to get away with breaking the law? While he's been bad on REDUCING AMNESTIES, he does have a good vote for interior enforcement, border control and stopping other rewards for illegals. His fellow Senator from SC, James DeMint, is a real Patriot in his vote record. Could there be some rivalry there we could appeal to?
DeWine is a swine, Im afraid. Only the broadest of threats of losing the grassroots vote is going to work with him.
Cornyn and Kyl might be approachable with the argument that we need border enforcement NOW, not when this controversy about guestworkers has finally been worked out. When Spector says it looks too difficult to get agreement, it probably will be. THE PRESIDENT HAS NO RIGHT TO HOLD UP BORDER ENFORCEMENT UNTIL HIS PET PROJECT GOES THROUGH. It is extortion and our border guards are being put into danger because of it.

DCSA, we plan to give you the GA Contact info and tips you need.
Tim, Good suggestion. I was already cooking up a response for Graham. After his boneheaded comments to the press this week he needs to feel the heat.
