Did you hear what I heard?
Today I sat and watched the cowboys vs. the rams. Every time they cut to commercial i cringed, remembering last years inundating spanish commercial and sunday night's nightmarish spanish festival of commercials and programming.
But today... well either I know spanish so well it sounds like english or there wasn't a peep of spanish anywhere.
I kept the channel locked on Fox for the entire game and didn't hear one single spanish commercial, even from the usual suspects (la raza supporters).
Did the NFL get the message? Did the American populous finally make their voice heard? Only time will tell but today I am an excited person.

dragon,
Your right! No Spanish today!
I complained last week. It really irritated me. If you want to reach the Spanish market, do it on their channel. NFL is broadcasting on an English station.
I've been a lifetime fan of "America's Team" and let the NFL and the Cowboys know I was displeased!
I'm sure you're not going to hear a soccer game in South America broadcast in English.

Well i take it back. It looks like it was just FOX not airing spanish crap. CBS just aired a commerical for the NFL that features a man and women in therapy.
They man is playing with his hands while the therapist encourages him to say what is on his mind. After a few seconds playing with his ring he admits that he loves the NFL.
Unlike other spanish language commercials that have aired lately this one came with subtitles.
looks like CBS is off my watch list for the rest the TV season.

We posted at the same time, dragons5. I saw that commercial too and started a new thread about it. Aaaaaargh (is all I have to say).
Calderon was absolutely right when he said...."Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico".

I missed that occurance but heard, from a lot of people, who were angry about it so I'm sure they got absolutely slammed for it.
As for myself, I am putting a complaint in with Disney, as well as Direct TV, and anyone else I can track down who is even remotely responsible for this:
They are running an ad for The Suite Life of Zach and Cody on Disney. The ad consists of the theme song sung in Spanish and the opening credits translated to Spanish.
The way I see it is that this is a segment of the population which demanded their own Spanish language stations because they didn't feel they should be forced to endure programming in English only. The corporations gave them what they wanted and thats fine. I don't have to watch those channels.
But now we're being forced to listen to things in Spanish on English language stations?
I think not.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
