CAGW: Taxpayers Go Trick-or-Treating

(Washington, D.C.) – Citizens Against Government Waste’s (CAGW) ghoulish goulash of Washington’s most wasteful projects and the sweet smell of success in saving taxpayers’ money strikes again. The streets of Washington and clammy halls of Congress continue to be crowded with vampiric politicians drawing blood from anemic taxpayers to pay for wasteful projects.

Trick:
Congress and its dysfunctional denizens of that Little Shop of Fiscal Horrors failed to pass either a budget resolution or any of the 12 twelve annual appropriations bills.

Treat:
In eight of the nine appropriations bills which passed out of their subcommittees, CAGW calculated a 28 percent drop in the number of congressional earmarks. (Unfortunately, the Senate only passed one appropriation bill, Transportation, and it had a 29 percent increase!).

Trick:
Congress passed a monstrous “healthcare reformâ€
