Thread: A letter From OH Sen Sherrod Brown-Thinks DREAM Act is good

As a native of Ohio, I am repulsed by Senator Brown's position on the DREAM Act. Ohio may be only second to Michigan where manufacturing and labor jobs have been killed! To think that he would like to reward illegals while his own citizens suffer from the results of NAFTA and CAFTA is sickening. Please call his office to let him know how you feel- (202) 224-2315 Here is his letter regarding the NEW DREAM Act, he obviously loves it...

Dear Mr. JECG_97030:

Thank you for your letter in regard to S. 774, the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act.

The DREAM Act was introduced by Senator Durbin of Illinois, and has been proposed as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act of 2007. This legislation would allow students under the age of 30 who have grown up in the United States and graduated from high school to petition the Secretary of Homeland Security for permanent residency after completing two years of military service or college. Eligible students must have entered the United States before their sixteenth birthday, lived in the United States for at least five years, be of good moral character, and have never been under a final order of deportation or removal. In addition, the DREAM Act would repeal a provision in Federal law prohibiting states from granting unauthorized aliens in-state tuition, and would instead leave the decision up to each state.

The DREAM Act grants hard-working students the opportunity to further their education and their contribution to our society. Should this bill come before the full Senate for a vote, I will keep your views in mind. Thank you again for contacting me.

Turning his back on AMERICANS by putting illegals first is unacceptable!

Brown was good, in being a leader against CAFTA, but he's letting party loyalty govern his actions when it comes to amnesty, and the DREAM Act. The Democrats know that all forms of amnesty will mean growth for their party. Unfortunately, many of the Republicans don't realize it. He is one of many to target for replacement, when he's up for re-election.

Yes, he's a liar. No Senator should be in office, lying to his constituents. I would call back and tell them that. Might start a fire storm. Maybe an ad in the "Plain Dealer" would be a good idea.

Granting State authorizition to choose an illegal invasion upon a Nation that belongs to all American's, no matter what State they reside, is unconstitutional and equally dangerous to those in States who chose not to allow the madness.

The Senator knows fully well why the provision was put into law,
"unauthorized aliens" shouldn't be in our Country in the first place, he doesn't care about U.S. Citizen's or Constitutional law.

Our Govt. is practicing Anarchy on its Citizen's! It's become a free for all and we are being dealt the losing hand.
