The protesters are showing the world how ridiculously out of control our federal government has let this problem get. What is worse is that a half million immigration criminals and their descendants and sympathizers can be found in a single American city, and that the current immigration enforcement system is such a joke that the half million have nothing to fear from openly invading our public streets and arguing against legislation currently before Congress.
Sadly, many in Congress are actually considering their demands. You know, just like Mexico would consider the wishes of any American criminals in their country.
The " they need to assimilate" bull that is being shoved down our throats is just that, BULLS**T propaganda towards the citizens of the United States. The failure to assimilate is obvious! The massive crowds, ballyhooing their pursuit of the "American Dream", held signs in Spanish, waved mostly Mexican flags, and chanted "Mexico! Mexico!" and "Si se puede!" (Yes we can!). Does this mean that the whole world can sneak into America, protest in our cities and they will get their way?
What the protests truly portray is the colonization of America by the Latin style of politics. To demonstration, march and protest are the way things are done in Latin American countries.
In the United States, we write letters to the editor and vote and debate. In the Latin world, mobs march and rally before the eyes of their government. During the past protests and the one to come on May 1st,
we will and have seen the unrestrained flow of the political culture of Latin America into the United States.
Unless we do something about the gaping hole in our border, enforce our laws, deport illegal immigrants, and assimilate the legal immigrants into American culture, the United States will become more like Latin American, and less American, every day.
