Call them what they are Media.. illegals ..I am a Immigrant

Hi My Name is Mary I am from Canada, My husband is a U.S. Citizen and I have 2 boys, one has moved back to Canada because we couldn't afford to go through the immigration process until I got my process with Immigration complete. My other son right now is going to Gallaudet University in washington D.C. We have been trying to get our voices heard since this whole immigration thing started way back when the illegals started protesting for their "Rights". "What Rights"??? and I feel that is the reason why we are in this situation that we are in today with all the rising cost of fees, because if they enforce the immigration laws that are in place instead of being more concerned about what the illegal aliens want they would have more than enough money to cover their expenses without having to raise the fees. But they are more concerned about what the illegals want than what the American people deserve. And this whole thing is not fair to the Immigrants that did it the right way by knocking on the door not by climbing over the door. Now we have to pay triple the price to renew while the illegals that broke the law to begin with gets a free ride. They say they cannot round up 12 million plus illegals to deport them so how do they think they are going to round them up to pay a fine, just another one of the many loop holes.. its not going to happen, they will get what they want and we that did it the right way will have to pay the price and its not fair to my kids whom left to go back to canada because we didn't have the money to go through the process, but now I guess they can come in and protest and cry racism to get what they want, I would like to get my voice heard but it seems like the only way a person can get heard is if they are breaking the law to begin with to ask for the rights they don't have, we as immigrants have more right but don't get heard, that's sad.

    Mary,

I call them Illegal Aliens because that is what they are. They are not immigrants. I understand and share your frustration. I applaud you for following the proper legal channels.

You say that you want your voice to be heard-well here is the place to start. Join ALIPAC. Call, write, E-mail and fax. Go to a protest. Let your voice be heard.

    i aGREE!

    Mary,

You and may other first generation Americans are getting shafted for doing the right thing and playing by the rules. I asked Senator John McCain what Law abiding citizens get if illegals get amnesty. For example, do we get a "get out of jail free Card" good some traffic tickets parking tickets and a felony? And the fact is that 30 illegals stand on a the same street corners in multiple locations throughout the US every day, and ICE does nothing to enforce the existing laws by picking them up and deporting them. You are right: If 12 million illegals can sneak into the country and 12 million illegals can be administered to under s.1348 with fines, etc... then 12 million illegals can be deported!!!

Additionally, have you noticed that whenever the pro-illegal group speaks, they claim they are immigrants, leaving off the illegal part? The also claim that no one is illegal and that we all came here illegally. It makes me sick to think about it

    Mary, Welcome!
I applaude you and your family for wanting to abide by the rules and do it the right way. Here on ALIPAC we have many great tools for you to use to be heard.
    You can also visit www.dontspeakforme.org
This website is a group of awesome Americans who immigrated here legally also, and that are against illegal immigration.
Glad to have you on board!

Welcome Mary. You described one of the most significant problems with all of this. LEGAL immigrants, who have spent countless hours, and money, and have waited literally years by doing the right thing are being punished. While the illegals are basically stealing citizenship. Stick around. We are glad you are here.

Hi Mary and welcome to ALIPAC! Thank you for going through the legal process to become a U.S. Citizen. You have very valid issues and I hope that you use ALIPAC as a springboard to have your issues presented. Speak out and become your own advocate!

MARY.... did you contact the senators and house members in Congress from the state in which you live?

did you write a letter to the editor?

I too am an immigrant; our family waited at home 2 years before we were able to come.... it was worth the time... at that time. Today's "illegal alien" is another breed, probably NOT the kind of "contributor" America needs....

    THANKS and BEST WISHES

    What you can do.

    Welcome Mary!

My wife's parents were both legal immigrants from England in the late 50's. She was born in New York and so is a natural born citizen. I was talking with my father-in-law a few weeks ago. He told me that when he came here he had to have a job lined up before he could apply for a visa. Then when he arrived the Customs agent verified that he was in fact employed and that he had enough money with him to return to England if the job didn't pan out. He and his wife were here for years before they could become citizens.

That's the way that it was and that's the way it is in every other country in the world. I don't understand why the media, Congress, and these special interest groups would expect the US to be different from every other country on the planet? Especially since the vast majority of US citizens want us to apply the same rules to everyone. What is really shamefull is that the news correspondants who report on these stories know the score. Most of them have traveled to foreign countries, they know the drill. Yet they continue to paint our laws as harsh, brutal, mean spirited, and outside the norm.

What you can do to change all of this. I think that the most important thing that you can do is to talk to those that you know. Let them know your point of view as a legal immigrant. Let them know how hard it is to become a citizen. Let them know that you think that US citizenship was worth the wait and the struggle. Then let them know that illegal immigration hurts the legal immigrant. The more people know about the subject, the less likely they are to accept the false information that the media puts out.

Next, you can vote. So vote every chance you get. Find the candidates that support your views and do everything you can to support them. Put their sign on your lawn, tell your neighbors, donate to their campaign, and meet the candidate. Talk to the candidate to be sure that they know where you stand on this issue.

Then email, write, and call your representatives anytime there is an issue that it important to you. Make sure that they clearly understand where you stand on the issues.

Check the internet and join organizations that support your views.

If everyone would just do these things then it would be very difficult for the media and the politicians to bend the truth as they do.

    Welcome aboard Mary!!
I have a friend who just got his citizenship and let me tell you he is hopping mad about all this as well.
He went through all the proper channels and did everything he was supposed to, and then to find out our President and Senators want to allow people who have already broken the law to just jump ahead of everyone else!
