I received this message today by e-mail and thought it was awesome. It's a fantastic message to forward to everyone in your address book. It came with the Numbers USA cost analysis of the Shamnesty plan.

PLEASE FORWARD THE ATTACHED MESSAGE

Even if you believe 12 - 20 million people deserve amnesty even though they committed the crimes of breaking US Immigration laws, Theft of Citizen's Identification and Forging of Documents, you can't ignore the financial costs and the fact that we will be more open than ever to terrorism within our borders with S 1348.

With the Z Visa, all 12-20 million people given the gift of amnesty will be eligible for Social Security having never paid into the system. They will also be able to legally take jobs from American citizens in jobs not previously available to them as illegal immigrants. They will also be given, in many cases, race based hiring and educational opportunity preference over life long citizens. They will be able to access all social services, welfare and Medicare and Medicaid, again having never paid into the system.

All of these perks come with tax amnesty as well. Illegal aliens will have no requirement to pay back taxes to offset any of the costs of legalizing their status.

There has to be a better way to deal with the problem that comes with 21 years of no border enforcement. We can't make the same mistakes that we made in the past.

"This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1-1.3 million illegal aliens.
We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another Amnesty Bill like this."

-Ted Kennedy, 1986 (The year the IRCA was signed into law - the bill that
granted the first official large-scale amnesty to many illegal aliens)

The Bush-Kennedy will devastate the American economy and makes no guarantees that there will be real and meaningful border enforcement. In fact the bill reduces, by half, the miles of fencing passed in the 2006 Border Enforcement Bill.

Please read the attached cost estimate sheet that breaks down the cost, in the trillions, that this bill will cost. There is a very good chance that this bill will soon become law. There is a better way, ask you US Senators to vote NO on S. 1348. Ask them to kill this fatally flawed bill and start over again. Ask them to show us that they are serious by enforcing our border before calling for any other immigration law changes.

Sen. Chuck Grassley said the immigration reform bill being debated in the U.S. Senate is riddled with loopholes and flaws. During a speech on the Senate floor, he outlined for the American people nearly 30 flaws within only two sections of the bill.

[i][b] “I was burned once in 1986 when I voted for amnesty believing that it would solve our problems. Now, we have a 12 million illegal immigrant problem. I’m not getting burned again,â€
